  • Patent number: 6433275
Abstract: The invention is a watertight plastic housing for an electrical device, having a base 2, a lid 12 of a size and shape to be friction-induced welded 13 to base 2. The housing has a fixed male-threaded nipple 1, which is hollow (opening 5), permitting wires 10 to pass through a housing wall. When the housing base is friction-induced welded to the lid, a prior art washer is externally seated on the nipple, the nipple is inserted into a hole 15 of a prior art junction box 16, and the nipple is secured to the junction box with a prior art nut, the housing and housing-to-junction box substantially provides a watertight seal.

  • Patent number: 6017251
Abstract: An extruded rail-mount, for mounting devices to a variety of rails, with a support leg that provides upward support against the forceful pressure exerted when wires are screwed onto screw terminals at the edges of the mounted device. The mount is substantially constant longitudinally. The rail-mount has a thin, plank-like substrate with latitudinally upward arms and downward kinked legs and a downward support leg. The arms have catches to grab onto/support circuit boards or other devices. Kinked legs have catches to grab onto/mount a chosen rail. When the rail-mount is mounted on a rail, the support leg is of a length to support against the surface to which the rail is secured. Because rails are relatively narrow, the mount's utility is such that attachment to a rail provides support to one side of a mounted device and the support leg provides support for the opposite side of the device.

  • Patent number: 4169982
Abstract: A touch-actuated electronic switch is disclosed including a direct current or voltage supply having its output or common terminal connected to a voltage source which is alternating with respect to Earth ground, two signal inputs, at least one touch surface, means for connecting the touch surface to one of the signal inputs, an amplifying device and a network for imposing part of the signal found on the signal inputs onto the amplifying device. A mode of operation is disclosed wherein the amplifying device is allowed to float up and down in voltage to follow in part the alternating voltage of the signal inputs. The above arrangement can be used, through the addition of additional circuitry, to switch the power to a load on and off any time the touch surface is first touched.
