  • Patent number: 7387518
Abstract: An attachment assembly and method for attachment are provided. The attachment assembly includes a base having a shaft extending therefrom and a non-conductive compression member having a plurality of slots and configured to engage the shaft. The attachment assembly further includes a locking component configured to engage the shaft. The locking component has a plurality of resilient extensions configured to engage the plurality of slots of the compression member. The locking component is configured to compress the compression member in a tightened state and wherein the resilient extensions form a conductive path when in the tightened state.

  • Patent number: 6838031
Abstract: A method for molding a thick part without significant surface distortion is disclosed. A cavity mold having a first core mold portion with strakes is used to create a first molded form having ribs proportioned and spaced apart to prevent distortions on one surface of the part due to shrinkage. A second core mold portion replaces the first core mold portion for creation of a second molded form having complementary ribs which are similarly proportioned to prevent distortions in an opposite surface of the part. The first form acts as a mold for the second form, the complementary ribs fuse together and form a homogeneous mass between the opposite surfaces of the part.

  • Publication number: 20040189543
Abstract: The invention is directed to a flexible antenna comprising a plurality of strands of a nickel-titanium alloy, mountable on a base assembly of an antenna system, for transmitting signals from and receiving signals to said antenna. In one embodiment, the strands of nickel-titanium alloy may be configured as one or more selected from the group consisting of 7×1 and 9×3. A mast stud in the base assembly may be used for receiving a signal cable for communication with the antenna element. The assembly may also include a printed circuit board. A sleeve may be mounted over at least a portion of the antenna element and a radome mounted over at least a portion of the antenna element and the base assembly.
