  • Patent number: 11589335
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support chained sidelink transmissions. A transmitting user equipment (UE) may send, to a receiving UE, sidelink control information (SCI) that reserves resources for transmission from the transmitting UE as well as reserves resources for a response transmission from the receiving UE. The receiving UE may respond with a transmission using the resources that were reserved in the SCI and without sending its own SCI to reserve resources for the response. The latency between the transmitting UE sending the first transmission and receiving a response from the receiving UE may be reduced, because the transmitting UE reserved the resources for itself and the receiving UE with the same SCI.

  • Patent number: 11582800
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine an adjusted contention window size for a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure that increases channel access time fairness between a plurality of different groups of UEs. The UE may determine, via the LBT procedure, that a channel is idle based at least in part on the adjusted contention window size. The UE may transmit, to other UEs in a group of UEs that includes the UE, control information that enables a group channel occupancy time (COT) associated with the channel to be shared with the other UEs in the group of UEs. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Patent number: 11582801
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure on a channel bandwidth using an energy detection (ED) threshold. The ED threshold being associated with a transmission bandwidth that is narrower than the channel bandwidth. The wireless device may also, responsive to a successful LBT procedure, transmit on the transmission bandwidth according to a frequency hopping pattern during a first channel occupancy time (COT). The frequency hopping pattern comprises a first resource allocation and a second resource allocation different from the first resource allocation.

  • Patent number: 11582832
Abstract: A configuration utilising L1/L2 signaling to activate or deactivate a direct link in dual or multi-connectivity with relaying devices. The apparatus communicates with a base station using a direct link and using a relay link. The relay link comprises a side link between a first UE and a second UE and a second direct link between the second UE and the base station. The apparatus transmits or receives a request to deactivate the direct link based on a determination by at least one of the base station, the first UE, or the second UE that the direct link between the first UE and the base station is to be deactivated. The request to deactivate the direct link comprises L1 or L2 signaling. The apparatus receives a deactivation command to deactivate the direct link.

  • Patent number: 11576069
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that enable a user equipment (UE) in a distributed system to transmit measurement reports for layer 1 (L1) or layer 2 (L2) mobility on a per distributed unit (DU) basis such that each measurement report for L1/L2 mobility contains only measurements of cells that are supported by the same DU. The UE may generate and transmit a DU-specific measurement report to the DU (e.g., via L1/L2 signaling) that includes measurements of cells controlled by the DU. The UE may support various reporting configurations for measurement reporting including per cell, per group of activated cells, or per group of deactivated cells, in each case reporting to the corresponding DU. The UE may also perform joint reporting that includes the measurements of both activated and deactivated cell sets transmitted to the corresponding DU.

  • Patent number: 11576172
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify an overlap in time between at least a first occasion and a second occasion in a slot. In some cases, the first occasion may be semi-persistently scheduled for the UE according to a first configuration associated with a first priority level, and the second occasion may be semi-persistently scheduled for the UE according to a second configuration associated with a second priority level. The UE may apply, based on the identified overlap, a conflict resolution rule to the first occasion and the second occasion based on the first priority level for the first occasion and the second priority level for the second occasion, communicate in the slot using the first occasion, and refrain from communicating in the slot using the second occasion based on applying the conflict resolution rule.

  • Publication number: 20230036652
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which multiple operators may perform spectrum sharing using shared radio units (RUs), where the multiple different operators can access a same RU for communications with a user equipment (UE). A shared RU may receive requests for resources from two or more network nodes of two or more different network operators, for wireless resources in a first time period. The RU may determine a first resource allocation for the first time period based on different priorities of the different network operators. A first network operator may have a higher priority than a second or third network operator, and resources may be allocated to the first network operator ahead of the second or third network operators. The RU may transmit the first resource allocation to each of the different network nodes that transmitted requests for resources.

  • Patent number: 11570811
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure to use for transmitting a downlink signal to a user equipment (UE) on a shared radio frequency spectrum band. The LBT procedure may be a group LBT procedure associated with a first set of contention window durations or an individual listen-before talk procedure associated with a second set of contention window durations. The base station may determine a contention window duration corresponding to the identified LBT procedure, perform the identified LBT procedure using the determined contention window duration, and transmit the downlink signal to the UE based on the performed LBT procedure.

  • Patent number: 11558902
Abstract: Aspects relate to spectrum sharing for use in a wireless communication network that serves both prioritized and non-prioritized user access terminals. In one example, a user access terminal, e.g., a user equipment (UE), senses an amount of signal energy within a frequency band during one or more sensing intervals in response to a determination that the access terminal is a non-prioritized access terminal. If the amount of signal energy does not exceed a sensed energy threshold, the user access terminal transmits wireless signals following the sensing intervals. On the other hand, if the amount of signal energy exceeds the sensed energy threshold, the user access terminal modifies transmissions while the amount of signal energy sensed during one or more subsequent sensing intervals exceeds the sensed energy threshold. For example, the access terminal may delay or adjust transmissions until the amount of signal energy no longer exceeds the sensed energy threshold.

  • Patent number: 11558230
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may identify an uplink/downlink (UL/DL) configuration that defines subframe configuration options for each subframe of a frame. For example, the UL/DL configuration may establish parameters for time division duplexing (TDD) operation between a base station and a user equipment (UE). The wireless device (e.g., the UE or base station) may determine a constraint for a subframe of the frame based on the UL/DL configuration and then determine an adaptive subframe configuration based on the constraint. The adaptive subframe configuration may include one or several downlink symbol periods and one or several uplink symbol periods.

  • Publication number: 20230008727
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first device may cooperate with a second device to form a virtual device configured to communicate with a radio access network. The virtual device may appear as a single device from the perspective of the radio access network. Subsequently, a third device may be identified for replacing the second device within the virtual device. Based on the third device being identified, procedures for handing over communications from the second device to the third device may be executed. The procedures may include a beam management procedure, a random-access procedure, a mobility management procedure, or any combination thereof.
