  • Patent number: 8823502
Abstract: An asset's TCU, or a mobile device coupled thereto, receives and stores geographical boundary definitions to a memory. A processor uses the boundary definition to determine an initial-location boundary based on the definition and the current location of the TCU at the time it received the boundary request message. As the TCU's GPS unit generates location information, the processor retrieves the initial-location boundary definition from the memory and compares the current location from the GPS receiver to it according to an algorithm. If the processor determines that the current location of the vehicle has crossed the boundary, the processor generates an alert message, which may be an e-mail, SMS, telephonic, internet, IM, or other electronic message indicating that an asset crossed the boundary, and sends it wirelessly using a transceiver to a central computer for further processing, or directly to another device, according to a notification destination identifier.

  • Patent number: 8825458
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are described for providing a model map for workflow integration from concept to production. The apparatus may receive a file in a first format, produce a mapped file from the file in the first format, and provide for conversion of the mapped file from the mapped format to a second, different format. The file in the first format may be supported by a first application, such as an architectural design application, a design engineering application, or a production specific application. The file in the second format may be supported by a second application, which may include an architectural design application, a design engineering application, or a production specific application. In this way, a file in the first format that is only operable on the first application may be converted to a file in the second format that is operable on the second application.

  • Publication number: 20140240444
Abstract: A new approach is proposed that contemplates systems and methods to allow real time manipulation of objects within multiple dynamic and augmented video streams/feeds synchronized in an augmented reality (AR) or multi-dimensional space. Under such an approach, a participant/user of a first AR system would be able to connect with participants/users of a second same, similar or different AR system and to share their initial and/or augmented video streams with those users to enhance the AR experience from one participant to many. Through real time synchronization of augmented video streams in the AR systems, the users of both the first and the second AR system can see, share, manipulate and interact with the augmented content/objects either in his/her own augmented video streams or in the augmented video streams of another user.

  • Publication number: 20140245291
Abstract: An example system and method of sharing a device assigned to a plurality of virtual machines includes identifying a first virtual machine in which a device is active. When a condition is satisfied, control of the device is transferred from the first virtual machine to a second virtual machine. Transferring control of the device includes sending a first communication to cause the first virtual machine to relinquish control of the device based on an indication that power will be removed from the device and further to cause the virtual machine to save first state information maintained by the first virtual machine to a first memory. The first state information is associated with the device. Transferring control of the device also includes saving second state information maintained by a host machine to a second memory. The second state information is associated with the first virtual machine and device.

  • Publication number: 20140240020
Abstract: A plurality of PWM generators have user configurable time delay circuits for each PWM control signal generated therefrom. The time delay circuits are adjusted so that each of the PWM control signals arrive at their associated power transistors at the same time. This may be accomplished by determining a maximum delay time of the PWM control signal that has to traverse the longest propagation time and then setting the delay for that PWM control signal to substantially zero delay. Thereafter, all other delay time settings for the other PWM control signals may be determined by subtracting the propagation time for each of the other PWM control signals from the longest propagation time. Thereby insuring that all of the PWM control signals arrive at their respective power transistor control nodes with substantially the same time relationships as when they left their respective PWM generators.

  • Publication number: 20140244721
Abstract: A computing device executes a client-side instance of an application that supports bi-directional real-time synchronous communication and real-time asynchronous communication with a server computing device by way of an application programming interface (API) that conforms to representative state transfer (RESTlike) design principles. An eventing framework on the server computing device is used to aggregate updates to resources on the server that are requested by the client computing device, and is further used to transmit metadata to the client computing device that indicates which updates are available. Real-time sensitive updates are included in the metadata, and the client computing device can decide when and how to retrieve other available updates. An asynchronous operation is modeled on the server computing device by an operation resource that can modify other resources on the server computing device and cause updates regarding status of the operation to be sent to the client computing device.

  • Publication number: 20140244572
Abstract: Tools and techniques are provided to assist detection of invalid clicks in website activity data. A system calculates or otherwise obtains a historic click quality characterization based on historic web analytics data. The system then identifies a click quality anomaly in the website activity data, namely, a departure from the historic click quality characterization. The identified anomalies may then be used to help guide searches for invalid clicks.

Abstract: A matrix ring comprising includes a biasing ring and a pair of opposing tines. The biasing ring includes a substantially hoop-like configuration terminating at two opposing ends. The pair of opposing tines extend inwardly from each of the two ends of the biasing ring toward each other. Each of the pair of opposing tines is coupled to the respective opposing end about a central region thereof and extends radially outwardly therefrom. Each tine includes a frame body having a central ridge and opposing lower extensions, the lower extensions terminating at an exposed face. The portion of the lower extensions proximate the exposed face being able to move relative to the rest of the frame body so as to better position on the teeth of a patient. A superimposed pad over portions of the frame body provides a deformable surface for engagement with the surface of the tooth of a patient. In the Specification The opposing tines 14a, 14b are shown in FIG. 1.
