  • Publication number: 20240082554
Abstract: An atraumatic insertion device for the subcutaneous delivery of pellet-shaped medicaments and/or implantable devices is described. The device includes a cannula with a distal tip that opens when the pellet-shaped medicaments and/or implantable devices are pushed through using an obturator. The cannula distal tip has at least three cuts, creating sectional leaves that open when pressure is applied distally from within the hollow cannula body. The distal tip of the obturator has complementary grooves to the sectional leaves of the cannula distal tip and will force everything out of the cannula and anything that might be caught on the sectional leaves. A blister packaging strip for storing and dispensing pellet-shaped medicaments and/or implantable devices is used to load the insertion device. The blister packaging strip has features to align the blister cavity directly above the loading well of the device and safely transfer the pellet-shaped medicaments and/or implantable devices into the cannula.

  • Publication number: 20210016920
Abstract: A method and system for storing an electronic device, such as an LED 34 component having metallic conductive leads 36, 38 or a light engine 30 having LEDs soldered to a PCB 32, within a container 100 formed of paper material. The container interior surface 14, 16 is coated with a barrier 20 bounding the interior volume 18. Barrier 20 occludes an emission of sulfur-containing gas from the paper material into interior volume 18. Barrier 20 is a polymer, e.g. a thermoplastic material, either in the form of a sheet or a spray or liquid coating, preferably applied to the paper material blank 10 before it is folded into the container shape 100. Barrier 20 may further comprise electro-static discharge material.

  • Publication number: 20190131597
Abstract: Techniques and architectures are disclosed for a ruggedized battery pack to provide power to an electric device or appliance. The battery pack includes a battery mounting plate having an elongated central portion and opposing offset end portions at each end of the central portion. The central portion is configured to receive one or more batteries and includes a reinforcement rib that extends longitudinally along a length of the central portion. The offset end portions include at least two bends that position a corresponding terminal portion of the mounting plate relative to the central portion. The batteries are attached to the mounting plate with a wrapping that surrounds at least a portion of the central portion and the batteries. The battery pack also includes a wiring harness attached to the batteries and including a strain relief assembly that prevents the wiring harness from being separated from the batteries.

  • Patent number: 10184643
Abstract: Enclosures with grommetless strain relief are provided, each including a base and a cover. The base has a bottom and four sidewalls arranged to provide an open box-like structure. A first of the sidewalls of the base is configured with a wire routing slot at its perimeter. The cover has a top and four sidewalls arranged to provide an open box-like structure configured to couple with the base, so as to provide a strain relief for an electrical wire passing through the wire routing slot. The wire is pressed against a length of the first sidewall of the base by a first sidewall of the cover. The enclosure may include other features, such as rounded edges in the wire routing path, a wire guide and/or strap to inhibit wire movement between the first sidewalls, and/or one or more locking mechanisms configured to secure the cover to the base.

  • Publication number: 20180115049
Abstract: A wireless mounted control module includes an antenna portion, which encloses at least in part an antenna, and a holder portion. The holder portion allows the movement of the antenna portion from an installed position, where the top of the antenna portion is flush and/or substantially flush with the exterior surface of a device or location in which the module is installed, to an extended position, where an upper section of the antenna portion (including the top of the antenna portion) extends beyond the exterior surface.
