  • Patent number: 8087517
Abstract: A filter element has at least one plastic part, a filter medium, and a potting compound that forms a connection between the at least one plastic part and the filter medium. A connecting part is connected fixedly to the at least one plastic part. The potting compound penetrates at least partially into the connecting part.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 12, 2006
Date of Patent: January 3, 2012
    Assignee: Mann + Hummel GmbH
    Inventors: Alfons Schwinghammer, Frank Pflüger
  • Patent number: 7874431
Abstract: A filter element for cleaning a fluid having a pleated filter medium designed for radial flow, to the outside of which a circumferential reinforcing thread is applied. The outside of the filter medium is divided into two axial sections, to which the reinforcing thread is applied in a plurality of circumferential thread windings, such that the axial distance between directly adjacent thread windings differs in the two sections.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 29, 2007
Date of Patent: January 25, 2011
    Assignee: Mann + Hummel GmbH
Inventors: Jobst Eisengraeber-Pabst, Joachim-Paul Krieger, Alfons Schwinghammer, Johannes Lampert, Daniela Knodel, Frank Pflueger, Fritz Kupfer
  • Patent number: 7691188
Abstract: An adsorption element for adsorbing gases and vapors from the gaseous atmosphere in the intake tract of an internal combustion engine. The adsorption element is disposed within a wall of a flow cross section carrying the intake air, has a planar adsorption medium along which the intake air flows, and is pleated to create folds in longitudinal direction of the intake stream.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 10, 2006
Date of Patent: April 6, 2010
    Assignee: Mann + Hummel GmbH
Inventors: Olaf Weber, Stephan Wild, Wolfgang Wenzel, Daniel Volkmer, Jens Sohnemann, Josef Rohrmeier, Alfons Schwinghammer, Frank Pfeiffer

  • Patent number: 6524479
Abstract: A filter element 10 for purifying fluids having a filter medium 11, an enclosure member 12, and a rod 13. The filter medium 11 has folds 14, which may be zigzag-shaped, and which define a fold height 15 and a pleat surface 16. At right angles to folds 14 extend end faces 17, which represent the course of the folds 14. The enclosure members 12 are arranged on the end faces 17. To support the folds 14, the rod 13 pierces through the pleat surfaces 16 of the folds 14 creating joints 19. These joints 19 are sealed, e.g., by additional seals or by fusing the filter medium to the support rod or the support rod to the filter medium.
