  • Publication number: 20230345306
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may allow a device participating in a setup procedure to efficiently propose a range of values for a negotiated parameter. The techniques may reduce setup time, for example, allowing a responder to accept a value within the proposed range which may eliminate overhead associated with some of the back and forth message exchange of typical negotiations.

  • Patent number: 11799702
Abstract: Techniques are described herein that illustrate a feedback system to configure various format parameters of physical layer convergence procedure protocol data units (PPDUs) transmitted across a communication link. A receiving device may determine a Doppler shift or a delay spread of a signal received from a transmitting device. The receiving device may determine one or more format parameters for a future PPDU based on the Doppler shift or the delay spread. The receiving device may transmit an indication that includes the format parameters for the future PPDU to the transmitting device. The transmitting device may modify one or more format parameters of a PPDU based on the information in the indication. In some cases, the receiving device may indicate characteristics of mid-ambles, a type of PPDU, a guard interval, high efficiency long training field size for a future PPDU.

  • Publication number: 20230337025
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some aspects, two devices may support signaling and messaging designs that support bandwidths that are greater than 160 MHz for ranging null data packets (NDPs). For example, various signaling and messaging designs may support a use of a 320 MHz bandwidth for ranging NDPs as part of a ranging measurement procedure, which may offer greater resolution than narrower bandwidths. The signaling and messaging designs may include one or more updates for a null data packet announcement (NDPA) frame, for a trigger frame, for session negation messages (such as one or both of an initial fine timing measurement (IFTM) frame and an IFTM request (IFTMR) frame), for segmentation techniques for ranging NDPs, or for any combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20230337227
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for managing uplink access in a wireless local area network. A station (STA) may inform an access point (AP) of uplink quality of service (QoS) parameters for a traffic flow from the STA. The AP may control uplink resources to satisfy the QoS parameters. For example, the AP may select from among different access modes (including a single user (SU) access mode, an uplink multi-user (UL-MU) scheduled access mode, a multi-user enhanced distributed controlled access (MU EDCA) access mode, or a low latency (LL) access mode). The AP may cause the STA to use a SU access mode or the LL access mode if the UL-MU scheduled access mode and the MU EDCA access mode are not sufficient to satisfy the uplink QoS parameters for the traffic flow.

  • Publication number: 20230328669
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems and methods for synchronizing wireless devices with each other. In some implementations, a device transmits, to at least one wireless station (STA), an indication of an enhanced synchronization mode on a first communication link associated with a first access point (AP) of the device. The device transmits, during the enhanced synchronization mode, a plurality of sync frames on the first communication link more often than Target Beacon Transmission Times (TBTTs) associated with the first communication link, each of the plurality of sync frames indicating a Timing Synchronization Function (TSF) offset between the first AP and a second AP of the device. In some instances, at least one of the plurality of sync frames may be a Fast Initial Link Setup (FILS) Discovery frame carrying a TSF value of the first AP.

  • Publication number: 20230319676
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may identify an aggregation capability to communicate in parallel over a plurality of wireless links. The wireless device may in some cases broadcast this aggregation capability (e.g., periodically). Additionally or alternatively, the wireless device may transmit the aggregation capability in response to a request received from another wireless device. In some cases, the first wireless device may transmit a request to a second wireless device inquiring about aggregation capabilities of the second wireless device. The second wireless device may respond with its aggregation capabilities (e.g., or may broadcast its aggregation capabilities independently of receiving the response). The wireless devices may establish a multi-link session based at least in part on the indicated aggregation capabilities.

  • Patent number: 11737021
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for wireless communication that can be used to establish a restricted target wake time (TWT) session on a wireless medium. In some implementations, an access point (AP) establishes a restricted TWT session for one or more wireless stations (STAs) associated with latency sensitive traffic, the restricted TWT session including restricted TWT service periods (SPs) during which the AP reserves access to the wireless medium for only the one or more STAs associated with the latency sensitive traffic. The AP transmits a clear-to-send (CTS) frame at a start of each restricted TWT SP, the CTS frame indicating to other STAs that the wireless medium is unavailable for a duration of the respective restricted TWT SP. The AP transmits latency sensitive data to or receives latency sensitive data from the one or more STAs during at least one of the restricted TWT SPs.
