  • Patent number: 11963200
Abstract: As described herein, a system, method, and computer program are provided for orchestrating resources in a 5G network based on user equipment behavior analytics. A policy control function in the 5G network collects analytic information associated with past behavior of user equipment in a 5G network. The policy control function predicts future behavior of the user equipment in the 5G network, based on the analytic information. The policy control function generates one or more policy decisions based on the future behavior of the user equipment, wherein the one or more policy decisions cause an orchestration function of the 5G network to orchestrate resources within the 5G network for use by the user equipment.

  • Patent number: 11637760
Abstract: As described herein, a system, method, and computer program are provided for generating a network slice experience index for evaluating a network slice. In use, a guaranteed quality of experience (QoE) is determined for a slice of a network. For at least one point in time, an actual QoE of the network overall is measured. A slice experience index is generated based on a delta between the guaranteed QoE and the actual QoE. The slice of the network is evaluated using the slice experience index.

  • Patent number: 11477827
Abstract: As described herein, a system, method, and computer program are provided for handling a user equipment connection to a 5G network. An orchestration function of the 5G network identifies a connection to be established with the 5G network by the user equipment. The orchestration function determines a data center in the 5G network having resources available for use by the user equipment. The orchestration function generates access related information to be used by the user equipment for establishing the connection with the 5G network, wherein the access related information is based in part on the data center having the resources available for use by the user equipment. The orchestration function causes the user equipment to establish the connection to the 5G network according to the access related information by communicating the necessary information to a policy control function (PCF).

  • Patent number: 10972881
Abstract: As described herein, a system, method, and computer program are provided for managing charging for network slices. In use, a network slice management function manages a lifecycle of a network slice instance. Additionally, the network slice management function monitors the network slice instance for one or more chargeable events. Further, the network slice management function detects a chargeable event of the one or more chargeable events for the network slice instance, based on the monitoring. Still yet, the network slice management function triggers charging for the chargeable event.

  • Publication number: 20180204234
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for calculating a cost-of-ownership for virtual network functions (VNFs) or Network Service in a Network Function Virtualization based (NFV-based) communication network. In use, a cost-of ownership system receives one or more parameters associated with at least one virtual network function (VNF). The cost-of ownership system identifies a cost associated with each of the parameters. Further, the cost-of ownership system calculates a cost of ownership associated with the at least one virtual network function based on the cost associated with each of the parameters.
