Patent number: 11212803Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for synchronizing the switching of different wireless platforms to different portions of a frequency band. An embodiment, at a first wireless platform, operates by receiving a band switch request message from a second wireless platform, wherein the band switch request message comprises a band switch delay period for the second wireless platform. The embodiment calculates a band switch time based on a band switch delay period for the first wireless platform and the band switch delay period for the second wireless platform. The embodiment transmits a band switch accept message comprising the band switch time to the second wireless platform. The embodiment sets a first filter to operate on a second portion of the frequency band based on the band switch time. The embodiment then operates on the second portion of the frequency band.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2020Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Adam B. Lapede, Daniel R. Patent number: 11206672Abstract: System and methods for using channel quality reports to reduce inter-band interference are disclosed. Channel information is received at a first wireless communication device from a second wireless communication device. The first wireless device is operating in a first frequency range, and the second wireless device is operating in a second frequency range. The first frequency range is adjacent to the second frequency range. A channel quality report is generated at the first wireless communication device. The channel quality report indicates that particular sub-bands in the first frequency range have low channel quality. The particular sub-bands are selected using the channel information.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2019Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATEDInventors: Alon Ben Ami, Shlomit Ben Yakar, Alon Paycher, Uri Weinrib

Publication number: 20210185701Abstract: Communication between a source device and one or more pairs of accessory devices and between accessory devices within pairs of accessory devices is scheduled using slot availability masks (SAMs). A primary accessory device provides to the source device information about requirements for communication between the primary accessory device and a secondary accessory device. The source device determines a SAM map that specifies a periodic cycle of time slots, with time slots marked as available or unavailable for transmission and/or reception. The SAM map satisfies requirements to avoid collisions between communication between the source device and the accessory devices and communication between accessory devices within pairs of accessory devices. When multiple pairs of accessory devices establish connections with the source device, internal communication between accessory devices within pairs of accessory devices are aligned to use at least a common overlapping set of time slots.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2020Publication date: June 17, 2021Inventors: Alon PAYCHER, Sriram HARIHARAN, Yonathan SHAVIT, Assaf KAPLAN

Publication number: 20200351781Abstract: A first device may communicate via a first wireless interface (WI) and a second WI, with the second WI operating at a relatively higher power level than the first WI. The first device may receive a scan notification corresponding to wireless scanning performed by a second device. The first device may subsequently perform wireless scanning using the second WI in response to the scan notification indicating that the first device is within effective communication range of a third device. The first device may receive the scan notification over a wireless connection established between the first device and the second device using the first WI. The first device may transmit filter information to the second device, the filter information indicating when, and for which scans the first device is to receive scan notifications. The first device may also activate the second WI and use the second WI to perform ranging and/or control operations associated with the third device.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 19, 2020Publication date: November 5, 2020Inventors: Sriram Hariharan, Venkatesh Rajendran, Alon Paycher, Michael Jason Giles

Patent number: 10681640Abstract: In order to reduce the power consumption after a transmitting electronic device in a wireless network has been detected, a receiving electronic device calculates transmit times of subsequent beacons from the transmitting electronic device based on a clock drift of the transmitting electronic device and the beacon period. Then, the receiving electronic device receives the subsequent beacon by opening scan windows that encompass the calculated transmit times. However, because the transmit times are more predictable after the transmitting electronic device has been detected (and the clock drift of the transmitting electronic device is known to the receiving electronic device), the receiving electronic device can reduce the width of the scan windows. In addition, the transmitting electronic device can further reduce the power consumption by increasing the beacon period.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2018Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Ran Irony, Ran Katz, Alon Paycher
