    Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation valve is configured as a butterfly valve and includes a body with a generally uniform diameter bore therethrough. A generally circular plate is mounted within the bore and is rotatable between a first open position and a second closed position. The generally circular plate is dimensioned to provide a enlarged gap between an outer edge of the generally circular plate and the bore when at the second closed position.
