  • Patent number: 8266123
Abstract: Navigating from an alert related to a state of a data object to a source of the alert includes displaying alerts in a portal environment. The portal environment has an analytical portal application associated with an analytical data store and a transaction portal application associated with a transaction data store. One of the alerts includes a transaction alert that is associated with a data object in the transaction data and another of the alerts includes an analytical alert that is associated with a data object. An indication of a transaction alert or an analytical alert is received from a user. When the indication is an indication of an analytical alert, navigation occurs to the analytical portal application. When the indication is an indication of the transaction alert, navigation occurs to the transaction portal application.

  • Patent number: 7257579
Abstract: A method comprises determining a rule type needed for selecting an action to be performed with regard to a data object, identifying an access procedure associated with the rule type, retrieving query attributes from a context associated with the data object, searching an attribute database with a query attributes, and, if the query attributes match a first attribute set, accessing a first rule that belongs to the rule type and that is identified by the first attribute set. Each of a plurality of rules in a rule database is capable of being identified by any attribute set in the attribute database. Input functions for modeling the rules and creating the databases may be provided. Use of the rules can be simulated.

  • Publication number: 20060149697
Abstract: A method of providing a context-dependent tile for display on a client device includes: receiving at a server device a request from a client device for a tile, the tile being associated with a context identifier stored on the server device; requesting from the client device a context data portion that is associated with the context identifier, the context data portion being selected from context data stored on the client device; receiving at the server device the context data portion from the client device; and sending the tile from the server device to the client device, the tile being generated using the context data portion. The method may be implemented so that the request of the context data portion may be performed by sending a dummy tile to the client device. Additionally, the server device may retrieve the context identifier from a context repository.

  • Publication number: 20050223310
Abstract: A web-based portal includes portal pages registered within a web-based architecture, and navigation options linked to different ones of the registered portal pages. A display of registered portal pages is provided as follows. A server provides, to an access device, information to provide a display of a selected first registered portal page that includes a hyperlink to a second registered portal page. The display of the page is provided within a displayed navigation framework that includes a navigation menu for user selection of navigation options. In response to receiving an input indicating user selection of the displayed hyperlink to the second page, the server provides to the access device 1) information to provide a display of the second registered portal page within the displayed navigation framework, and 2) information that causes the navigation menu to emulate a selection of a navigation option linked to the second registered navigation page.

  • Publication number: 20050216525
Abstract: A method to be performed when a user is defining a target group for a marketing campaign includes receiving an input identifying an attribute value chosen by a user for determining which of several possible members to include in a target group. A first data repository contains data about each of the several possible members. The method includes determining whether the data that is associated with the attribute value has been loaded from the first data repository into a second data repository. If the data that is associated with the attribute value has been loaded into the second data repository, the method includes initiating a search in the second data repository with the attribute value to determine which of the several possible members to include in the target group. The second data repository may be configured to provide high-speed searching.
