  • Publication number: 20080311050
Abstract: A method for achieving a retrievable hair restyling is described. Here a composition is applied to the hair, said composition containing at least one first active ingredient or active ingredient complex which can provide a shape memory effect by itself or in combination with other substances after being applied to the hair and after the performance of the treatment of the hair according to the invention. The composition additionally contains at least one second active ingredient, namely a hydrophobic substance with a water solubility of ?5 percent by weight at 20° C. The hair is arranged into a given (permanent) shape and said permanent shape is then fixed by inducing a chemical or physical modification of the applied active ingredients, wherein after a wanted or unwanted deformation of the shape memory, the original shape memory can be restored by means of a physical stimulation. In addition to the permanent hairstyle, a second (temporary) shape can be impressed.

  • Publication number: 20070275020
Abstract: A method for producing a retrievable hairstyling using shape memory polymers is described. Here a composition is applied to the hair, said composition containing a shape memory polymer P or a macromer M that can be cross-linked to a shape memory polymer, the hair is arranged into a given (permanent) shape and said permanent shape is then fixed by means of chemical cross-linking of the macromer M under the formation of a shape memory polymer and/or under physical cross-linking of the polymer P. The polymer P and the macromer M are formed from block copolymers, each of which comprises at least a first block and at least two additional blocks. The first block is a polyol and is selected from polyethers, dimerdiol and derivatives derived therefrom, as well as from polyesters of dicarboxylic acids with diols. The additional blocks are polyesters of hydroxycarboxylic acids or their lactones.

  • Publication number: 20050244353
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for achieving a recallable hair deformation. A composition is applied onto hair, comprising at least one first active principle or active complex, which, alone or in combination with further compounds, is able, after application to the hair and after carrying out the treatment of hair in accordance with the present invention, to provide a shape memory effect. The composition comprises at least one second active principle, which is a cationic agent. The hair is brought into a defined (permanent) shape and the permanent shape is subsequently fixed by means of inducing a chemical or physical change of the applied agents, wherein after a desired or undesired deformation, the memory shape of the initial memory shape may be recovered by means of a physical stimulation. In addition to the permanent hairdo, a second (temporary) shape can be impressed.

  • Publication number: 20050158267
Abstract: The hair gel composition contains a combination of at least one hair-fixing polymer and at least one polymeric gel former. The polymeric gel formers are homopolymers or copolymers built up from at least one type of monomer, which is an acrylamidoalkylsulfonic acid, a methacrylicamidoalkylsulfonic acid or a salt thereof, and from acrylate polymers with thickening action, which are built up from acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and at least one acrylic or methacrylic acid ester. The hair gel composition is suitable for a non-aerosol spray product for increasing hair luster and/or hold or fixing of the hair.

  • Patent number: 6749843
Abstract: A method of reducing the flyaway effect occurring during treatment of hair with a cosmetic composition is disclosed. According to this method an effective amount of an electrically conductive polymer is added to the cosmetic composition prior to treatment of the hair. Preferably the cosmetic composition is a shampoo or hair care composition, which contains from 0.001 to 5% of the electrically conductive polymer.
