  • Patent number: 11917251
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining that a plurality of user profiles, stored in the memory, are associated with an account of a media application; generating for presentation a media asset during a first consumption session associated with the account; generating for presentation a selectable option to associate a current progress point of the media asset with one or more of the plurality of user profiles associated with the account; receiving a selection of one or more of the plurality of user profiles via the selectable option; during a second consumption session, receiving a request for accessing the media asset; and in response to determining that the second consumption session is associated with the selected one or more user profiles, resuming the media asset from the progress point associated with the selectable option.

  • Publication number: 20230370695
Abstract: Methods and systems are presented herein for streaming of media content. The methods and systems include receiving a request to stream a media content item; accessing a profile of a user authorized to access the streaming service; determining whether a bonus stream in addition to a default number of streams should be granted based on an analysis of at least one of: a status of the streaming service, a status of the requesting media device, metadata of the media content item, a status of the communication system, the profile, and a status of the currently streaming media device. Related apparatuses, devices, techniques, and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 11785314
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for including supplemental content with segments based on the complexity of the segment. This may be accomplished by a system receiving complexity information related to a media asset and user information related to a viewer to determine if one or more segments of the media asset is complex for the user. If the system receives a trick play command, from the user, during a segment categorized as complex, the system can use the complexity information and user information to generate supplemental content, facilitating better user understanding of the complex segment.

  • Publication number: 20230300396
Abstract: Methods and systems generate improved viewership of and interest in content including live events, sporting events, and reality shows utilizing improved content delivery (including streaming content delivery, primary content delivery, and secondary content delivery), analysis of media content items, user interaction, automatic control without user interaction, display configurations, user interfaces, selectable options, live and non-live content, temporal considerations, determinations, predictions, likelihoods, measurements of user interestedness, measurements of relatedness, content availability, user-generated content, identification and delivery of content of particular interest to a user, metadata analysis, playlist generation, and concurrent live content availability. Based on these improvements, dynamic streaming content feeds are generated, which are specifically adapted to the determined interests of a user or a clustered group of users in order to increase viewership of and interest in content.

  • Publication number: 20230262280
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for operating a group watching session, in which a group watching session for presentation of a media content item is initiated at a first participant device and a second participant device; a segment of the media content item for which the presentation of the media content item is to be synchronized at the first participant device and the second participant device is identified; a viewing progress of the media content item at the first participant device is determined to be different from a viewing progress of the media content item at the second participant device; and in response to the determining, the viewing progress at the first and second participant devices is synchronized for the presentation of the identified segment.

  • Patent number: 11722740
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for storing an identification of a first pause point of a media asset associated with a first user interaction profile; storing an identification of a second pause point of the media asset associated with a second user interaction profile; receiving a request to access the media asset during a current consumption session; identifying user interface inputs received during the current consumption session; selecting one of the first pause point and the second pause point as a selected pause point based on determining whether the identified user interface inputs match user interface inputs associated with the first user interaction profile or the second user interaction profile; and generating for presentation the media asset starting from the selected pause point.

  • Publication number: 20230241518
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing smart communications in a video game environment are disclosed. A first positional vector of a first user within a video game environment and a second positional vector of a second user within the video game environment are determined. In a first communication between the first user and second user, the first positional information is detected and a first translation vector between the first positional vector of the first user and the second positional vector of the second user is calculated. Based on the first translation vector, the first positional information is corrected, and the corrected positional information is transmitted to the second user.

  • Patent number: 10319235
Abstract: Systems and methods for resolving conflicts between paths of smart vehicles based on time remaining in media assets being consumed in the smart vehicles. For example, two smart vehicles may be traveling along routes that conflict (e.g., they will converge at a particular point in the routes and collide). In order to resolve the conflict, one vehicle is instructed to yield to the other vehicle until the path is clear. The vehicles are instructed based on whether one or both vehicles are displaying a media asset (e.g., a movie) to passengers, and the amount of time left in the media asset compared to the amount of time left until the vehicles reach their destinations.
