Abstract: There is provided a mouth care device comprising a unitary integrally moulded elongate shaft forming an elongate handle having a proximal end, and a distal end of circular cross-section; and a unitary integrally moulded head comprising a body portion encircling and fused to the distal end. The integrally moulded head also comprises a plurality of rows of integral flexible filaments, each such row extending longitudinally of the shaft and comprising at least five of the flexible filaments. The rows of flexible filaments are distributed around the head, and each of the flexible filaments is of non-absorbent material and of uniform diameter, extending transversely relative to the integrally moulded head. The mouth care device also comprises a continuous internal channel running from a proximal opening in the proximal end of the device to a distal opening located at the distal end of the device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling and monitoring flow of a desired fluid are disclosed. An in vitro pulsatile flow system has a fluid reservoir that contains the desired fluid, which simulates a physiologic fluid, such as cerebrospinal fluid. A pump transports the desired fluid from the fluid reservoir to a test material to permit monitoring of adhesion of cells and tissue to the test material.

Abstract: A convertible sofabed is a sofa when closed in a sitting position and a bed when opened in a sleeping position. A retractable support structure can be telescoped from the sofa to form, in conjunction with the sofa, a bed that is longer than the depth of the sofa in its sitting position. The mattress in the sleeping position is folded in three portions, a fixed portion, a central portion and an outer portion. The outer portion forms a sofaback in the sitting position and the central portion folds to lie on top of the fixed portion to form the seat of the sofabed. The support structure includes curved legs that travel easily over the floor without causing damage.

Abstract: A plurality of genes modulated by estrogen or other agents, such as hormones or combinations of hormones, in various types of tissue is described. One embodiment of the disclosure relates to a plurality of genes, which demonstrates certain patterns of expression differing qualitatively or quantitatively, with and without exposure to estrogen and/or other hormone compositions. Methods of using these genes in identifying candidate agents that exert at least some of the biological effects of estrogen and/or other hormone, and pharmaceuticals and related therapies also is disclosed. The use of the plurality of genes in methods of monitoring, in gene chips and in kits also is disclosed.

Both sides and the back of the furniture flare out horizontally to form a ledge useful for supporting objects. A retractable bottom member is slidably withdrawable from the sofa to projectably form, in conjuction with that sofa, a bed of increased width. An enclosed storage area is formed between the vertical back of the furniture and a back cushion member.
