Patents by Inventor Antón MÉNDEZ DÍAZ

Antón MÉNDEZ DÍAZ has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 11085312
Abstract: An aircraft incorporating a cabin air recovery system in which the aircraft comprises a pressurizable cabin, main turbofan engines, each turbofan engine having fan blades, a gas turbine coupled with the fan blades and a by-pass duct bypassing the gas turbine. The cabin fluidly communicates with the by-pass duct downstream of the fan blades so that, during operation, cabin outflow air is discharged into the by-pass duct downstream of the fan blades. By re-utilizing excess cabin air, engine thrust and efficiency is improved, and fuel consumption is reduced.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 13, 2018
Date of Patent: August 10, 2021
    Assignee: AIRBUS OPERATIONS S.L.
Inventors: Javier Fraile Martin, Anton Mendez-Diaz
  • Patent number: 10443623
Abstract: An engine bleed air system of an aircraft, comprising a heat exchanger which comprises a rectangular core with a rectangular outlet section, a cylindrical outlet duct and a transition area between the rectangular outlet section of the rectangular core and the cylindrical outlet duct, and at least a downstream system, further comprising a flow deflector located at least in the cylindrical outlet duct, such that the outlet flow characteristics homogeneity are improved and a particular flow deflection and distribution of the outlet flow is achieved, avoiding the damage of the at least one downstream system. The invention also provides a method for homogenizing the temperature of the outlet flow of a heat exchanger outlet in an engine bleed air system of an aircraft.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 14, 2017
Date of Patent: October 15, 2019
Assignees: AIRBUS OPERATIONS S.L., AIRBUS OPERATIONS GMBH

  • Patent number: 9809314
Abstract: An aircraft air conditioning system comprises a process air line configured to supply compressed process air provided by a process air source to an air conditioning unit of the aircraft air conditioning system and a trim air line branching off from the process air line upstream of the air conditioning unit and being configured such that trim air flows through the trim air line, the trim air having been branched off from the compressed process air flowing through the process air line. A compressor is arranged in the trim air line and is configured to compress the trim air flowing through the trim air line. A turbine of the aircraft air conditioning system is configured to drive the compressor. A cabin exhaust air line is configured to supply cabin exhaust air discharged from an aircraft cabin to the turbine for driving the turbine.
