Publication number: 20060163760Abstract: Light transmission devices, such as lenses and windows for portable electronic devices, are produced using an injection/compression molding technique in which a light transmission device mold includes an integral runner in substantially the same plane and with substantially the same wall thickness as the light transmission device to be produced. The finished light transmission devices are mechanically separated from the molded product. Molding equipment and processes traditionally used to produce information discs can be leveraged to produce light transmission devices. Various processes can be performed to add metallization, coatings, and printing to the light transmission devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventors: Paul Jensen, Anthony Gelardi, James Elliott

Publication number: 20050205440Abstract: The present invention is a system for attaching rigid holders together to form stacks of rigid holders. The present invention relates particularly to stacks of one or more rigid holders for containers holding compact discs and DVDs. The attachment system of the present invention allows for simple and efficient connection between individual rigid holders. Mechanical binding clips are inserted into cutouts on the spine region of rigid holders. The binding clips are flexed to fit within an opening and then un-flexed to lock the rigid holders and binding clips together. Male and female details allow for a secure hold. Extensions within the cutouts have barbs that fit over parts of the binding clips.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2004Publication date: September 22, 2005Inventors: Tatiana Gelardi, Anthony Gelardi, Michael Thrower

Publication number: 20050145515Abstract: The present invention is a system for closure of data storage or other packages. The present invention relates particularly to stacks of one or more rigid holders for holding compact disc and DVDs. The closure devices of the present invention are made to fit various numbers of display devices. In one embodiment, interlocking extension surfaces are pressed together to secure the holders. The extensions have locking ribs along contacting sides. The closure system is adjustable to accommodate various numbers and sizes of rigid holders. Another embodiment utilizes an elastic band that is attached to a cover holder and stretched over a cantilevered finger on the opposite cover. The band stretches to accommodate various numbers and sizes of holders. Another embodiment has an extension off a cover attached by a living hinge. The extension snaps onto the top surface of an opposite cover to secure the stack of rigid holders closed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2004Publication date: July 7, 2005Inventors: Tatiana Gelardi, Anthony Gelardi, Michael Thrower

Publication number: 20050145514Abstract: The present invention is a system for labeling and displaying information on one or more data storage packages. The present invention relates particularly to providing covers with information on the outer surfaces of compact disc, DVD and other product containers. Labels may be attached to stacks of one or more rigid holders in order to display information on the cover, spine or base. Printed graphic cards may be inserted between the rigid plastic holders and covers of clear, flexible cover material. The clear cover material is formed into a clear pocket attached at the opening edge of the rigid cover and base. Alternatively, printed graphic cards are adhered to the outer rigid holders by placing adhesive on the cover and base holders but not on the spines. Also, a clear pocket may be attached to the spine of a stack of rigid holders with a printed graphic insert sliding into the pocket.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2004Publication date: July 7, 2005Inventors: Tatiana Gelardi, Anthony Gelardi, Michael Thrower

Publication number: 20050103659Abstract: A book format data package that utilizes dovetail shaped clips to attach trays together and to a book-like cover. The clips have internal living hinges molded between each segment. The book-like cover has a cover, spine made of flexible material, back panel and openings on the spine that are smaller than the resting length of the clips. These openings are a set of two parallel mounting recesses that leave a center strip. This center strip is used to lock the trays and book together. To attach the trays to the cover, the clips are folded to a size less than the size of the openings on the cover. There may be one or more locations to attach clips on the cover's spine. After passing through the opening on the cover and over the center strip of flexible material, the clips are pressed forward and returned to their original configuration. A locking rib is molded into the center of each female dovetail shaped pocket. Each clip has a groove down its centerline that the locking rib fits into.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2004Publication date: May 19, 2005Inventors: Tatiana Gelardi, Anthony Gelardi, Michael Thrower

Patent number: 6357153Abstract: A device for displaying multiple images in an animation-like manner is provided. The device includes an outer shell having a pair of opposed transparent lenticular surfaces and a pair of opposed side walls extending between opposed outer edges of the lenticular surfaces thereby forming a hollow rectangular cavity. The device also includes a generally rectangular slide insertable through an opening in the first end of the cavity. Interleaved images are positioned on the opposed faces of the slide. The device further includes a part for reciprocating the slide in the cavity thereby altering the appearance of the displayed image. The reciprocating part includes a detent slot formed in an interior region of each of the side walls of the outer shell and a corresponding pair of spring bar mounted detent tabs for engaging the detent slots. A spring bar is positioned generally parallel to the second end of the slide and dihedral spring leaves are positioned in a center of the spring bar.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1998Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Inventors: Tatiana L. Patent number: 5348408Abstract: A wrist and arm pad for use with keyboards is disclosed. The pad has a support means which is adjustable perpendicularly with respect to the keyboard for accommodating varying anatomies and preferences. The pad is also movable horizontally with respect to the keyboard, allowing the user to access all of the keyboard without removing wrists from the support. A preferred pad has a base with rollers and anti-skid pads, a movable support means lying on the base, and a flexible overlay peripherally attached to the base and enveloping the support means. Handles attached to the support means extend out of apertures in the envelope for adjustment. A frame is provided for holding the overlay to the base, and massage dots can be provided on the upper surface of the overlay. A platform plate and clamp are provided for extension of the work surface for attaching or placing of the wrist pad assembly.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1992Date of Patent: September 20, 1994Inventors: John A. Patent number: 5054616Abstract: Window/cassette cover combinations and more economical methods for assembling the window in the cassette are described. A planar window is: rectangular and includes a pair upper lips, each an opposite sides, and a pair of lower riges or ledges, each on other sides; generally square and includes an upper discontinuous lip and a pair of lower ridges or ledges on opposite sides; or circular and includes an upper continuous lip and a lower continuous ridge or ledge. In each of these three embodiments, the upper lips and lower ledges or ridges cooperate to receive the borders of a window opening formed in the cassette cover, and a label can be applied between the windows and optionally covering one or more windows. In each embodiment of the method, the window is flexed to position opposing ledges under the borders and the window is returned to its original planar position so that the upper lip abuts the top of the border.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1990Date of Patent: October 8, 1991Assignee: Shape, Inc.Inventors: Anthony Gelardi, Craig Lovecky, Alan Lowry
