Publication number: 20210085844Abstract: A connector has a hollow body having a first open end spaced apart from a second open end with a lumen extending between the first and second open ends. At least one channel extends through a sidewall of the body and is recessed from a terminal surface of the first open end. The first open end is sized to be received within an open end of a first tubing. When the first open end is partially inserted into the open end of the first tubing, the at least one channel and a terminal surface of the open end of the first tubing define an opening positioned so that fluid passes through the opening into or out of the lumen. When the first open end is fully inserted into the first tube, the at least one channel is covered by an inner surface of the first tubing to cover the opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2020Publication date: March 25, 2021Applicant: CARDIACASSIST, INC.Inventors: Michael J. Publication number: 20070161970Abstract: The fluid delivery system includes a pressurizing device for delivering injection fluid under pressure, a low pressure fluid delivery system, and a pressure isolation mechanism. The pressure isolation mechanism includes a first lumen associated with the pressurizing device, a second lumen associated with the low pressure fluid delivery system, and a pressure isolation port. The first valve is in a normally open position permitting fluid communication between the first lumen and the second lumen and movable to a closed position when fluid pressure in the first lumen reaches a predetermined pressure level. The first valve isolates the pressure isolation port from the first lumen in the closed position. A second valve is associated with the second lumen and regulates fluid flow through the second lumen. The second valve may be a disk valve defining one or more passageways in the form of slits through the body of the disk valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2006Publication date: July 12, 2007Applicant: MEDRAD, INC.Inventors: Michael Spohn, John Haury, Anthony McCoppin, John Kalafut, Herbert Grubic, James Dedig

Publication number: 20050234428Abstract: The fluid path set is intended for use in a fluid delivery system. The fluid path set includes a multi-patient use section adapted for connection to a syringe used in the fluid delivery system, and to a source of fluid, such as contrast media, to be loaded into the syringe. The fluid path set further includes a per-patient use section that is removably connected to the multi-patient use section. A connector removably connects the multi-patient use section and the per-patient use section. A drip chamber is provided between the source of fluid and the syringe, and includes a projection for determining a level of fluid in the drip chamber. The per-patient use section includes a pressure isolation mechanism. The pressure isolation mechanism includes a lumen, a pressure isolation port, and a valve member with a biasing portion that biases the valve member to a normally open position.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2004Publication date: October 20, 2005Inventors: Michael Spohn, John Haury, James Dedig, Susan Felix, Anthony McCoppin, Michael Ehrenberger, James Gimbel, Jared Sunday
