  • Patent number: 8240615
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and device for automatically protecting an aircraft against a hard landing. A measuring unit measures current vertical speed and current relative height of the aircraft. A first command generating unit generates first commands to act on the vertical speed of the aircraft by determining an intermediate command from the measured vertical speed and height and converting the intermediate command into turn angles. A speed calculation unit applies the first commands to control surfaces. The first commands are generated from the measured current vertical speed and height, taking into account a predetermined reference vertical speed, such that the aircraft touches down on the ground at a vertical speed not greater than the predetermined reference vertical speed.

  • Patent number: 8165810
Abstract: A navigation system includes a display device displaying, on a cockpit pilot display unit, a set of indications including an aircraft symbol which illustrates the position of the aircraft and a map part which represents the airport and moves in relation to the aircraft symbol according to the current position of the aircraft in the airport, the aircraft symbol fixed on the cockpit pilot display unit in a centered position in a standard display. The system also has an actuating unit for deactivating the standard display to enable the aircraft symbol to be displaced on the cockpit pilot display unit, and an actuating unit for controlling a temporary displacement of the set of indications on the cockpit pilot display unit such that the aircraft symbol displayed moves away from the centered position.

  • Publication number: 20080147315
Abstract: The invention relates to a system comprising a display device displaying, on a cockpit pilot display unit (7), a set of indications (10) containing an aeroplane symbol (8) which illustrates the position of the aeroplane and a map part (9) which represents the airport and moves in relation to the aeroplane symbol (8) according to the current position of the aeroplane in the airport, the aeroplane symbol (8) being fixed on the cockpit pilot display unit (7) in a centered position (12) in a standard display. The inventive system also comprises actuating means for deactivating the standard display in such a way as to enable the aeroplane symbol (8) to be displaced on the cockpit pilot display unit (7), and actuating means for controlling a temporary displacement of the set of indications (10) on the cockpit pilot display unit (7) in such a way that the aeroplane symbol (8) displayed moves away from the centered position (12).

  • Patent number: 4161842
Abstract: The invention seeks to provide a humane trap which dispatches trapped animals without pain or panic. A peripheral trap frame, open on one side, has sides on either side of the open side spring urged towards one another to provide the motive power for a pair of strike arms connected in scissors fashion and forming a toggle linkage tending to collapse inwardly of the frame under the spring pressure so as to deliver a killing blow to an animal whose head is passed through the frame opening. The toggle linkage is prevented from collapsing when the trap is set by a wire loop which is knocked clear of the linkage by an animal reaching a predetermined position within the trap.
