  • Patent number: 5332361
Abstract: A water pump, especially for the cooling system of a combustion engine of a car, has a housing with a space for a fluid. This space contains a pump device. The pump device is mounted on a shaft which projects form the housing. The shaft rotates while being supported by a bearing assembly. The bearing assembly has an outer stationary ring mounted on the housing. The fluid space id sealed with respect to the shaft by a sealing unit having a first ring connected to the shaft, and a stationary second ring mounted on the outer ring of the bearing assembly. The first and second rings have sealing surfaces which are directed toward one another, or extend axially. The first ring is resiliently biased toward the second ring, to provide a seal therebetween. The first ring is connected to the shaft via an elastic dampening and centering element located between the inner circumference of the first ring and the outer circumference of the shaft, and distributed over the circumference of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5039231
Abstract: In a roller bearing cage which holds the set of rollers in the raceway of aninner ring to form a structural unit, the lateral rings are interrupted by slots. Webs extend between the lateral rings. In this way, the cage gives way radially, which makes it possible to push the rollers over one of the flanges of the inner ring to assemble the bearing. To stabilize the cage during operation, projections are provided on the webs, which, as needed, contact the raceway of the outer ring and secure the radial position of the webs.

  • Patent number: 4911610
Abstract: In a drive device for pumps consisting of a pump impeller mounted in a pump chamber, a pump cover covers the pump chamber and has an extension and a bore passing from the pump chamber to the outside. A shaft is connected at its inner end to the pump impeller and at its outer end in a torsion-proof manner by way of a coupling element to a drive wheel. A bearing supports the shaft and drive wheel in the housing bore and extension respectively. The coupling element is formed by an external edge rigidly connected to the drive wheel and covers the outer bearing and the extension laterally on the outside. A cover plate with a center section connects in a torsion-proof manner to the shaft, and is adjusted to elastically adjust the cover plate relative to the pump cover either inward toward the pump chamber or outward away from the pump chamber, thereby providing for automatic adjustment of the radial and axial load-supporting bearings means to remove their play.

  • Patent number: 4776707
Abstract: In a linear rolling bearing element, especially for tripod joints, the cage is formed of a relatively thick sheet metal and limit projections for a linearly movable support are formed by stamping out of the material of the cage. The rollers are likewise held in the cage by projections formed out of the cage. This results in a stable cage which can take the high forces from the engagement of the support. The outer roller may be close to the limit projection, in order to assure a good support of the roller in the extreme position of the tripod joint.

  • Patent number: 4762207
Abstract: An automatic adjustment arrangement for disk brakes has a flanged threaded nut and a threaded spindle threadedly coupled thereto arranged between the brake piston and the hand brake piston. The flange of the threaded nut is axially form-locked and radially displaceable relative to the brake piston. The threaded spindle is rotatably supported in a rolling bearing which is radially displaceable. The hand brake piston and threaded spindle are frictionally coupled. The extension of the adjustment member is produced by rotation of the threaded spindle. To avoid malfunctions, an automatic centering of the entire adjustment element relative to the brake piston as well as relative to the housing is provided. Manufacturing and assembly errors are thereby compensated for. The positions of the threaded spindle and threaded nut can be interchanged.
