  • Publication number: 20190302868
Abstract: A power control device is provided for adjusting the input power to a device. The power control device includes an input, an output, and two or more output levels. A device such as an electrical device, appliance, or tool is attached to the output of the power control device. Further, a switch couples the input of the power control device to a power source. Thereby, the output level of the power control device can be adjusted by turning on and turning off the power source within a period of time.

  • Patent number: 8300441
Abstract: An active centerpoint bus balancing system which actively maintains centerpoint voltage balance of the output capacitors in a power supply having a multi-level voltage output. The centerpoint voltage balance is maintained by a novel control circuit which efficiently transfers charge from one capacitor to the other capacitor so as to maintain the same voltage on each output capacitor. The centerpoint voltage balance minimizes the effect of loading conditions. It operates even with no load, and allows severe load unbalance on the two output capacitors without creating voltage unbalance.

  • Patent number: 6798716
Abstract: A power transmission system using directional ultrasound for power transmission includes a transmitting device and a receiving device. The transmitting device has a set of ultrasound transducers forming an ultrasound transducer array, wherein the array is a set of spaced individual transducers placed in the X-Y plane disposed to generate an ultrasound beam in the Z direction.

  • Patent number: 6760238
Abstract: A system and method for DC/DC conversion are provided in which a high accuracy digital pulse width modulator controller circuit controls a power switch to obtain a desired DC output. The control circuit amplifies the difference of a DC output sample in relation to voltage reference. The amplified difference is then compared with a portion of the DC output. The compared result is used for controlling the power switch. A ripple coming from the DC output side is overlaid upon either one of the inputs to the comparator depending upon the polarity of the ripple signal.

  • Patent number: 4564767
Abstract: A power supply system for providing uninterruptible DC output power with momentary failure of the primary or AC mains supply utilizing a DC power source for back-up includes a power transformer having two primary windings, rectifying means, a serially-connected high voltage switching device coupling one primary winding to the AC primary mains supply, and a low voltage switching device coupling the second primary winding to the back-up DC supply. An output winding on the power transformer is coupled to a rectifying device for providing a DC output voltage. A transition circuit arrangement senses the DC output voltage and the resulting DC voltage generated by rectifying the AC mains supply and controls the duty cycle of the high voltage and low voltage switching devices by gradually increasing the duty cycle of the low voltage switching device to supply additional power when the AC mains voltage and resulting DC voltage decreases, thereby providing a virtually transient-free DC output voltage.
