    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an audio system having servo-controlled audio speaker and an amplifier. Interposed between the audio speaker and the amplifier is a feedback circuit configured to provide a feedback signal to the amplifier regarding errors and distortions in the operation of the speaker. The feedback circuit includes a flexible sensor connected to the speaker diaphragm and the frame of the speaker. The flexible sensor changes its resistance responsive to changes in its shape. The feedback signal is used by the amplifier to apply corrections to the drive signal for the audio speaker.

    Abstract: A hypodermic syringe and a plurality of single use cartridges able to be successively loaded into said syringe for providing rapid dispensing of a medicant to numerous users without contamination. The cartridges are continuously fed through the syringe to inoculate patients quickly and efficiently. An operator inserts a needle into a patient by pushing a trigger. Prior to insertion, a disinfectant is dispersed from the cartridge to maintain sterility. An operator then pushes in a plunger forcing the medication through the needle into the patient. The needle is pulled back with the plunger out of the patient's skin and back into the cartridge. A new cartridge on a clip is then advanced into the syringe to inoculate the next patient. The syringe and cartridge dispenser further maintains a sterile environment during successive vaccinations reducing the transmission of any disease from patient to patient.

    Abstract: A method for packetizing and communicating data. Data payloads are allocated to data categories based on processing function. A dedicated communication channel is associated with each data category. A data processing header for each channel precedes the data payload in each data communication packet, includes particulars sufficient to support a data processing operation, and is size-independent of the data payload. The header includes a dominant header sized common to all headers and a subdominant header of size defined for each channel, but independent of the data payload. The dominant header includes an operation identifier explicating the purpose of the data payload followed by a payload-size indicator conveying the size the data payload. The data payload may be empty. Dedicated communication channels include a command channel for keyboard and mouse events, a video raster channel, and a mass storage media block channel.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a combustor flow sleeve for a turbine engine. According to aspects of the invention, the flow sleeve can be attached to one of the components in the combustor head-end by a plurality of fasteners. In one embodiment, the flow sleeve can be attached directly to the combustor head-end component by a plurality of bolts. The bolted flow sleeve can reduce the time to install or remove the flow sleeve. In certain areas, it may not be possible to directly attach the flow sleeve to the combustor component. A flow sleeve according to aspects of the invention can be adapted to facilitate indirect attachment to the combustor head-end component. The flow sleeve can further be adapted to include thermal relief slots to accommodate any differential thermal expansion or contraction between the flow sleeve and the component to which the flow sleeve is attached.
