  • Publication number: 20230388936
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some aspects, a device may support multi-link operation (MLO) and may include a first arbitration block that manages communication on a first radio link and a second arbitration block that manages communication on a second radio link. The first arbitration block and the second arbitration block may support a signaling mechanism according to which each of the first arbitration block and the second arbitration block share or exchange information relating to a transmit power used on their respective radio link. For example, the first arbitration block may transmit, to the second arbitration block, an indication of a first transmit power for a first transmission on the first radio link and the second arbitration block may use the indication of the first transmit power to select a second transmit power for a second transmission on the second radio link.

  • Publication number: 20230370978
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for selectively using spatial reuse (SR) transmissions in the presence of an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) transmission. In some implementations, a wireless communication device may transmit data to another wireless communication device using SR packets in the presence of an OBSS transmission or interference only when the signal strength of SR packets received at the other wireless communication device is greater than an amount of signal degradation of the OBSS transmission caused by the SR transmission.

  • Patent number: 11811690
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to communicating positioning reference signals (PRSs) for narrowband communication are provided. A first wireless communication device determines a time-frequency PRS pattern based at least in part on a narrowband communication frequency band configuration and a PRS subframe configuration mode associated with a set of subframes. The first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a plurality of PRSs using the determined PRS time-frequency pattern in the set of subframes. The PRS subframe configuration mode can indicate a first configuration including a bitmap indicating a set of PRS subframes positioned within a group of contiguous subframes, a second configuration indicating a subset of the group of contiguous subframes that may carry the PRSs, or a combination thereof. The first configuration and/or the second configuration can be used to indicate the set of subframes.

  • Publication number: 20210378054
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for spatial reuse in a wireless network. In an example method, a first wireless device detects an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) packet received from a second wireless device in an OBSS, decodes one or more signal fields of the OBSS packet, determines that the OBSS packet is a transmission in which one or more resource unit (RUs) are unallocated, and performs a spatial reuse (SR) transmission to one or more first stations using a number of the unallocated RUs.

  • Publication number: 20210144558
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. In some aspects, an access point (AP) may receive an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) packet from another AP and determine timing information associated with the OBSS packet. The AP may align data symbols of the spatial reuse packet with data symbols associated with the OBSS packet, and in some examples, transmit a spatial reuse packet to a station (STA) based on the alignment. In some examples, a STA in communication with an AP may receive a spatial reuse packet from the AP and an OBSS packet from an additional AP. The STA may determine an alignment between timing information associated with the spatial reuse packet and timing information associated with the OBSS packet, and in some examples, apply one or more signal interference mitigation schemes based on the alignment.

  • Patent number: 9686800
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques for reporting Channel Quality Indicator (CQI). In certain aspects, a User Equipment (UE) may schedule switch from at least a first set of zero or more antennas used by the UE, to at least one second set of zero or more antennas, wherein the first and second sets differ by at least one antenna. The UE may determine a Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) to be reported from the UE for use at a base station in a subsequent CQI subframe set, based at least on the scheduled switch. The UE may thereafter transmit the CQI to the base station.

  • Patent number: 9420594
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for adaptively selecting a communications mode in high frequency systems. A first dual-mode device having capabilities of using two or more high frequency communications modes, such as OFDM and SC modulation, may transmit a signal to a second dual-mode device with the same capabilities. The second dual-mode device may compute a channel characteristic associated with a high frequency communications channel and select an optimal high frequency communications mode. The second dual-mode device may transmit information indicative of the channel characteristic or the selected communications mode to the first dual-mode device. The first dual-mode device may select and operate using the optimal high frequency communications mode based on the information received from the second dual-mode device. The first and second dual-mode devices may communicate using the selected high frequency communications mode.

  • Patent number: 9143219
Abstract: A transceiver utilizes a spatial spreading matrix to distribute two or more encoded spatial data streams to multiple antennas. The spatial spreading matrix satisfies one or more of the following two constraints: (a) the ratio of squared norms of the sum of the components of a row, for different rows of the spatial spreading matrix, is equal to a first constant sequence, and (b) the ratio of squared norms of the sum of a symbol S1 to be transmitted, when the symbol S1 is equal to 1 or ?1, multiplied by each of the components of a row, for different rows of the spatial spreading matrix, is equal to a second constant sequence.

  • Patent number: 9031145
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting data in a multiple input/multiple output signal. The method includes receiving a first signal associated with a first data value and a second signal associated with a second data value. A distance value between the received second signal and each possible second data value is calculated. Coordinates for a hypothetical first signal in light of a first possible second data value are calculated, and the first coordinate value is quantized to a nearest constellation point. A distance value between the received second signal and each possible second data value is calculated using the calculated constellation points. A determination is made of a log-likelihood ratio based on the determined distance values.
