  • Patent number: 5014897
Abstract: A tool for applying fasteners to a workpiece includes a housing, a fastener driving mechanism for driving a fastener through a driveway, a fastener guide assembly containing the driveway, a fastener magazine for holding and sequentially feeding fasteners to the guide assembly, and an arrangement for properly positioning the driveway relative to the workpiece. The fastener guide assembly includes a head through which the fasteners are driven, and the positioning arrangement includes a pair of opposite beveled surfaces on the sides of the head for longitudinally aligning the driveway relative to the workpiece, and a substantially U-shaped channel in the bottom face of the head for longitudinally aligning the driveway relative to the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 5007573
Abstract: A bracket support assembly connected to the lower end of the head of a staple gun. The support assembly includes a U-shaped plate member having a web portion that functions to longitudinally align the driveway of the gun with a fastener-receiving opening in the mounting bracket and a pair of opposite spaced apart leg portions which function to laterally align the driveway with respect to the fastener-receiving openings of the mounting bracket. A flat support plate extending across the lower end of the U-shaped plate member acts to support the mounting bracket during a fastener driving operation.

  • Patent number: 4909218
Abstract: A clamp assembly for fixedly mounting the lower end of a remote speed control cable that controls the speed of a small internal combustion engine. The clamp assembly includes a casing clamp having a mounting member having a base plate with a first fastener receiving opening formed therethrough and a mounting plate spaced from one side of the base plate and interconnected therewith by a link member, and a clamp plate spaced from the other side of the base plate including a body portion having a second fastener receiving opening formed therethrough disposed in alignment with the first fastener-receiving opening. The clamp plate is movable toward the base plate by a fastener to permit clamping of a cable casing between the clamp plate and the base plate. The mounting plate includes a dimple projecting therefrom for engaging and stopping the fastener at a predetermined location as well as a pair of shoulders for properly locating the casing clamp on an engine mounting bracket.

  • Patent number: 4889006
Abstract: A clamp for fixedly mounting the lower end of a remote speed control cable that controls the speed of a small internal combustion engine. The clamp includes a clip member removably attachable to the casing of the remote speed control cable and a mounting bracket on the engine for receiving and removably mounting the clip member thereon. The clip member is U-shaped with each side of the U having a bifurcated end defining a pair of legs having a cable receiving open therebetween dimensioned to tightly engage the casing of the cable. In one form, the mounting bracket includes a pair of horizontally extending and vertically spaced apart support ears having aligned clip receiving openings for snugly receiving the clip member, and in another form the bracket includes an upstanding support member about which opposite sides of the U-shaped clip member are disposed.

  • Patent number: 4823752
Abstract: A clamp for fixedly mounting the lower end of a remote speed control cable that controls the speed of a small internal combustion engine. The clamp includes a flat base plate having a first fastener receiving opening formed therethrough, a clamp plate spaced from the base plate including an upper flat body portion having a second fastener receiving opening formed therethrough disposed in alignment with the first fastener receiving opening and a lower arcuate cable receiving portion, and a deformable link member connecting the upper ends of the base plate and clamp plate. The link member is collapsible upon movement of the clamp plate toward the base plate by a fastener to permit clamping of a cable casing between the arcuate portion and the base plate.

  • Patent number: 4694792
Abstract: A wet priming mechanism for small internal combustion engines. A priming line connects the main fuel line leading to the engine and the intake port to the cylinder. A manual bulb-type priming pump is located in the priming line and through operation of the pump, fuel is drawn from the main line and is discharged directly to the cylinder. Located at the discharge end of the priming line is a restrictor assembly which defines a small unobstructed orifice. The orifice is sized so that air will be freely discharged from the priming line by operation of the pump without resistance, but provides a substantial resistance to the flow of fuel. Through operation of the priming bulb, a measured amount of fuel can be injected into the engine to aid in starting.

  • Patent number: 4512499
Abstract: A gas cap assembly for a gasoline tank. The gas cap assembly includes cup-shaped cap to be threaded on a neck bordering an opening in the tank. A tubular member is connected to the cap and extends inwardly of the tank with the lower end of the tubular member being generally conical and terminating in a drain opening. A plurality of ports are provided in the upper end portion of the tubular member adjacent the lower end of the cap. Located in the upper end of the tubular member is a conical member having an opening in its lower end that communicates with the interior of the tubular member.
