  • Publication number: 20180191419
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for using frames having beamforming training fields with base complementary code sequences that have a longer length than complementary code sequences used in other fields of the frame. The longer length may help perform channel estimation when encountering longer delay spread, for example, due to multipath effects of multiple beams during a beamforming training procedure. The longer length may be based on a lengthening factor which may be signaled, for example, using on or more bits of a preamble portion of the frames.

  • Publication number: 20180063723
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques to reduce address collision in short sector sweeps. In some cases, the techniques involve determining whether an encoded address (e.g., a compressed address), generated using a first parameter (e.g., a seed for a hash function), identifies a first wireless node and a second wireless node as a same destination for at least one first frame including the encoded address; generating at least one second frame including an indication not to use the first parameter if the encoded address identifies the first wireless node and the second wireless node as the same destination; and outputting the at least one second frame for transmission to at least one of the first wireless node or the second wireless node.

  • Publication number: 20180063794
Abstract: A technique is disclosed for reducing interference in a communication system including a plurality of wireless devices. A first device transmits a frame (e.g., an RTS frame or a CTS frame) to a second device, the frame including information from which a non-target third device may use to estimate potential interference at the first device based on a proposed transmission to a fourth device. The information includes at least one of an interference and sensitivity factor (ISF), transmit power, and reciprocity factor (a difference between an antenna receive gain and an antenna transmit gain). Using the information in the frame to estimate the potential interference at the first device, the third device may choose to proceed with the proposed transmission if the estimated potential interference is less than a threshold; or withdraw or modify the proposed transmission if the estimated potential interference is greater than or equal to a threshold.
