  • Publication number: 20070262965
Abstract: An operation touch pad (4) is disposed near the hand of a user. On a display (2), there is displayed one or more GUI parts (3) for the user to input a desired instruction or information. When the user touches the touch pad (4) by a hand (6) so as to select the GUI parts (3), the touch pad (4) outputs contact position data indicating the area of contact with the hand (6). An image (7) of a hand shape model is generated from the contact position data outputted from the touch pad (4) and is displayed on the display (2). In view of the image (7) displayed on the display (2), the user moves the hand (6) so that the finger tip of the model may come to over the desired GUI parts (3), and then pushes the touch pad (4).

  • Patent number: 7286298
Abstract: In a zoom lens of this invention, a first lens group having a positive refraction power, a second lens group having a negative refraction power, a third lens group having a positive refraction power, and a fourth lens group having a positive refraction power are arranged sequentially from an object side toward an image side, and the magnification is changed from the wide angle end of the zoom lens to the telephoto end thereof, and vice versa, by varying each distance between each pair of the first to the fourth lens groups. The first lens group includes a positive lens and a negative lens. The third lens group includes at least a positive lens and a negative lens arranged sequentially from the object side toward the image side. At least the positive lens of the third lens group is a spherical lens. That lens of the third lens group which is located closest to the image side is a lens having an aspherical surface on at least one surface thereof.

  • Publication number: 20070225905
Abstract: A navigation system comprises: a GPS for detecting a current position; a DVD drive for reading a map from a DVD on which a plurality of partially overlapping maps are recorded; a Memory card for storing information to identify a portion overlapping with another map, in a map being used for navigation; and a CPU for judging, based on coordinates of a current position and the information stored in the Memory card, whether the coordinates of the current position are contained in the overlapping portion or not, and for controlling, in response to a judgment that the coordinates of the current position are contained in the overlapping portion, the DVD drive to read from the DVD the map sharing the overlapping portion. Consequently, map data to be loaded can be smoothly changed according to the current position.

  • Publication number: 20070213930
Abstract: In a position estimation apparatus, an information acquisition/storage section 3 acquires, when a receiver 1 can track an artificial satellite, a current position obtained from the receiver 1 and an output value from each of pressure sensors 2R and 2L, and then stores at least a travel speed and a travel direction for a user and the obtained output value. Also, when the receiver 1 cannot track the artificial satellite, a locator 4 in the position estimation apparatus retrieves, from the information acquisition/storage section 3, a travel speed and a travel direction of the user based on the output value acquired from each of the sensors 2R and 2L and the output value stored in the information acquisition/storage section 3. Thereafter, the locator 4 estimates a current position of the user based on the retrieved travel speed and travel direction.

  • Patent number: 7212514
Abstract: In a mobile communication device, when an inquiry packet sent from another mobile communication device for inquiring whether to accept or deny the participation in an ad hoc network is transferred to a work area, a transmission/reception control section determines whether or not a denial flag set in a storage device is 1. When the denial flag is 1, the transmission/reception control section generates a first response for denying the participation in the ad hoc network, and transmits the first response through a transmission/reception section to the other mobile communication device that transmitted the inquiry packet.

  • Patent number: 7124109
Abstract: Points accumulated through a customer's purchase from a point service provider are kept track of by customer information databases in corresponding point service provider servers. A user uses user terminals to access a trade service provider, and receives various services, for example, point trading and point cash, offered by the trade service provider. The trade service provider accesses, as appropriate, the point service provider servers, so that the user's accumulated points are checked or updated. In this manner, the user can effectively use his/her points with no waste, and accordingly the point service system can be improved in its effective use.
