  • Patent number: 7798739
Abstract: The invention relates to a connection arrangement in which two parts can be coupled to a corresponding engagement means without play. A connection device having at least one elastically resilient portion is located in the engagement region of the two engagement means, the elastically resilient portion being stressed based on the coupling of the two parts due to deformation such that the two parts are in mutual engagement without play. Furthermore, a latch element is formed at the elastically resilient portion or at another resilient portion in the engagement region of the two engagement means. The latch element serves as a transport lock and as an installation aid and latches the second part in a predetermined relative position with respect to a third part before the coupling of the two parts.

  • Patent number: 7757816
Abstract: A transmission has a lubricant pump which is arranged in the interior of a transmission housing and which includes a rotor rotationally fixedly connected to a transmission shaft in a pump housing, with the pump housing being rotationally fixedly connected to the transmission housing and being sealed with respect to a cylindrical sealing surface of the transmission housing, and with the lubricant pump pumping into a pressure chamber which surrounds the transmission shaft and which is sealed with respect to the transmission shaft. To achieve a good seal and centration of the pump housing, the pump housing is sealed by means of a resilient ring with respect to the cylindrical sealing surface of the transmission housing, with the ring being received by an outer peripheral groove of the pump housing with radial clearance so that the pump housing can adjust itself in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 7694598
Abstract: A transfer case includes a two-speed range unit, a friction clutch, a power-operated actuation mechanism and a control system. The actuation mechanism includes an electric motor, a geartrain driven by the motor for controlling rotation of an actuator shaft, a range actuator assembly and a mode actuator assembly. The range actuator assembly functions to move a shift collar associated with the range unit in response to rotation of the actuator shaft. The mode actuator assembly includes a mode cam and a ballramp unit. The mode cam is rotatively driven by the actuator shaft for controlling the clutch engagement force exerted on the friction clutch by the ballramp unit.

  • Patent number: 4942951
Abstract: A liquid-friction coupling comprises a liquid-containing housing, a shaft, which coaxially protrudes into the housing, and the interdigitating sets of inner and outer blades, which are axially slidably mounted on the shaft and in the housing, respectively, and are non-rotatably connected thereto. Annular spreading springs are disposed between adjacent inner blades or adjacent outer blades. The distance between adjacent inner and outer blades can be changed by means of an annular piston, which is operable from the outside of the housing. To permit control of the liquid friction coupling within wide limits, the annular piston has a planar inner end face, which extends close to the blades and substantially throughout the cross-section of the interior of the housing. When the piston is in its outermost position the liquid contained in the housing is not in excess of 60% of the liquid capacity of the housing. The liquid has a viscosity of at least 30,000 centistokes.

  • Patent number: 4703842
Abstract: A liquid friction coupling, which preferably constitutes a differential arranged in the shaft line between two driven axles of a vehicle, consists of a rotatable housing (1), which is filled with a viscous liquid, a shaft (2), which protrudes into the housing (1), and a number of interdigitating blades (5, 6). The blades (5) of one set are non-rotatably connected to the housing (1) and the blades (6) of the other set are non-rotatably connected to the shaft (2). The shaft (2) includes a cavity (4), which serves to receive liquid from the housing (1) and contains a spring-loaded slider (8). In order to effect an automatic control of the torque which can be transmitted during the starting period, the slider in the cavity (4) of the shaft constitutes a sliding valve member (8), which cooperates with slots or the like, which are formed in the shaft and lead into the housing (1). The sliding valve member (8) is adjustable in dependence on a performance variable, preferably in dependence on temperature.
