  • Publication number: 20140188233
Abstract: A humeral head augment device in use in a modular shoulder prosthesis. The humeral head augment device has an external bearing surface with at least one surface portion that includes a radius of curvature. The radius of curvature is configured to constrain transitional movement of the implanted shoulder prosthesis when the humeral head augment device is positioned within the shoulder prosthesis. The humeral head augment device also includes a coupling mechanism designed to lock the humeral head augment device to either the stem or the humeral head, thereby ensuring proper operational positioning of the device within the shoulder prosthesis and allowing the implanted shoulder prosthesis to function in a patient suffering from rotator cuff arthropathy. • Publication number: 20090299375
Abstract: An instrumentation or targeting guide for use with an orthopedic device, such as an intramedullary nail, for example. The guide includes a guide body having a handle portion and a barrel portion. An intramedullary nail is fixedly securable to the barrel portion via a locking bolt. The barrel portion includes at least one canal configured to receive a catheter, the canal aligned with a corresponding canal in the intramedullary nail. In use, a catheter may be inserted over a guide wire and through both the canal in the barrel portion of the guide body and through the corresponding canal in the intramedullary nail prior to insertion of the intramedullary nail into the intramedullary canal of a long bone. In this manner, the placement of the catheter for delivery of medications within in the intramedullary canal of the long bone is facilitated.
