  • Patent number: 7827633
Abstract: A bed clothing assembly for a mattress including a mattress band and a unitary sheet assembly that is removably attachable to the mattress band for attaching and changing bedding. The mattress band encircles the sidewall of the mattress, and includes upper and lower edge portions that extending inwardly and continuously around the peripheral edges of the top and bottom surfaces of the mattress, respectively, when the mattress band is installed on the mattress. The unitary sheet assembly includes a bottom sheet and top sheet connected together as one unit. A plurality of fasteners around the bottom sheet permit the detachable securment of the bottom sheet to the mattress band to facilitate placing the unitary sheet assembly on the mattress. This particular construction and arrangement is advantageous to a person that is physically disabled and permits easy changing of bedding without having to lift the mattress.

  • Publication number: 20060272662
Abstract: A cigarette having a multi-component filter wherein an upstream sorbent removes at least one constituent from mainstream tobacco smoke passing through the filter and a downstream flavor segment compensates for taste lost to the sorbent. The flavor component includes cellulosic flavor bearing granules which release volatile flavor constituents into the mainstream smoke under ambient conditions. The cellulosic granules include microcrystalline cellulose or other cellulosic material which can be formed into a paste with the flavor additive, extruded and spheronized to form the flavor granules.

  • Publication number: 20050000852
Abstract: A container assembly for shipping and retail display of products is disclosed including tray supporting the products and a removable cover. The tray includes a bottom wall surrounded by an upstanding front wall having a lower height than that of the products, a rear wall opposite said front wall, and a pair of side walls. The tray has dividers extending from the rear wall towards the front wall. The dividers, rear wall, and side walls have generally equal heights greater than or equal to the height of the products. The cover includes a top wall, a front wall or panel, and a rear wall or panel, the front and rear panels each extending downward from the top wall, and a portion of each contacting the bottom wall of the tray. The rear panel has rear members separated by a space with the dividers located in the space. The top wall is sized to not exceed the outer dimensions of the tray while having portions that rest on and are supported by the top edge of the side walls.

  • Patent number: 5539451
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for spinning off a channel so as to provide a viewer with a choice of viewing a first program (e.g., the TV program), a second program (e.g., a news brief), or both are disclosed. More specifically, a method for providing such a choice entails initially having a system for transmitting programs wherein a first program is being transmitted on a first channel to a set of subscriber stations. Next, a temporary channel is defined. The transmission of the first program is continued on the temporary channel. The transmission of the first program is discontinued on the first channel. A second program is transmitted on the first channel. Advantageously, the invention provides viewers with a programming choice not otherwise available.
