    Abstract: A single pole, single throw switch for flashlights and other low amperage circuits is enclosed in a dielectric housing having an electric circuit contact fixed therein, the switch being selectively actuable by moving a threaded portion of a first electrode into and out of a complementarily threaded portion of a second electrode. Relative motion of the electrodes is achieved by manually rotating a cap-like part of the housing to which the first electrode is fixed. Voltages that can be accommodated by the switch are limited by the associated I.sup.2 R effects of contact resistance during switch actuation. Various components of the switch are fixed in the dielectric housing by friction, tongue and groove fasteners, and screws to facilitate servicing and repair.

    Abstract: A motion and orientation sensor and measuring device has an electric circuit contact actuated by a body of conductive fluid on disturbance of the conductive fluid by gravity, vibration or otherwise. A ball and socket joint adjustably mounts a disk-shaped container for the fluid through attachment of the ball to a support which may be structure of the object guarded by the sensor. A releasable internal-expansion locking mechanism in the ball and actuable from above laterally contacts the socket and fixes the angular relation of ball-to-socket as desired, and numerical measurement features are provided.

    Abstract: An acute dihedral angle is measured by determining the slope of one plane relative to the other. A base member is disposed on one plane and has a threaded bore which axially extends perpendicular to the one plane. A screw member threadedly engages the base member bore and has a peripheral diameter D. An annular collar member threadedly engages the screw member between the base member and the second plane and has a peripheral diameter D'. The slope between the planes is measured by rotating the screw in the base member and the collar about the screw until the peripheries of both the screw and collar contact the second plane. The tangent of the acute angle between the planes can then be computed as (y'-y)/(D'-D) (1/2), where y' and y are the distances from the first plane to the points of contact at the second plane of the screw and collar, respectively.
