    Abstract: A UV sterilizer. The UV sterilizer has a casing defining an inlet and an outlet therein and a conduit therein between the inlet and the outlet, wherein the casing is capable of conveying a liquid from the inlet through the conduit; a UV electric bulb situated within the casing adjacent the conduit; a power source for supplying electricity to the bulb; and a mechanical fastener for attaching the sterilizer to a pump. The sterilizer is unitary in structure and is substantially free of a pump.

    Abstract: A massager for producing rotary and/or vibratory massage motion includes a base structure, a support plate with a contact surface and a mounting surface, and resilient mounts for coupling the support plate to the base structure. At least one rotator structure is associated with the contact surface of the support plate and includes massage members extending therefrom. A motor is attached to the mounting surface of the support plate and manifests a first direction rotary output and a counter direction rotary output. A gear structure couples the motor to the at least one rotator structure to cause rotary movement thereof, upon actuation of the motor. The massager includes an eccentric weight and a clutch system for driveably coupling the eccentric weight to the motor when the motor produces a first direction rotary output; and for decoupling the eccentric weight from the motor when the motor produces the counter-direction rotary output.

    Abstract: A hair dryer is provided which reduces static electricity in hair being dried. A point source for electron release, such as a needle, is positioned in a reflector in the air stream of the dryer. The point source is electrically connected to an electron source, such as a piezoelectric crystal, located in the handle of the hair dryer. The piezoelectric crystal is wired to produce an electric charge, the charge being initially a negative electric charge. The crystal is connected to the point source and thus provides electrons to the point source. These enter the air, ionizing air molecules, and the resulting ions are carried to the hair, neutralizing the static charge in the hair. The piezoelectric crystal, a supporting frame, a lever arm, and an arm lever cover are mounted in the dryer handle. The lever arm cover can be pivoted, resulting in the lever arm being moved when the handle is squeezed or released. Release of the lever arm results in it returning to its original position.

    Abstract: A rotating outlet for hair dryers is provided causing air exiting from the hair dryer to travel in a circular pattern. A tubular member fits the outlet end of the hair dryer, and has a spider across its outlet end which carries a centrally located pivot. A rotating member is mounted on this pivot and carries vanes cutting across the air stream. The vanes cause the rotating member to rotate. The outlet of the rotating member is at an angle to the axis of the air flow leaving the dryer, and, so, as it rotates, causes the air to move in a circular pattern. This pattern duplicates the pattern provided by the user when she rotates the dryer itself.

    Abstract: A toy vehicle for a racing game and a track for performance on vertical and horizontal surfaces. The vehicle carries an electric motor and draws power from a pair of conductive rails embedded in the track surface. Increased magnetic attraction between the car and the conductive rails is provided locally to enable the vehicle to ride on vertically extending track lengths without impairing horizontal performance. Increased magnetic coupling is also effective in enhancing vehicle performance on curves. Greater holding forces between vehicle and track on vertical surfaces is provided by increased width in the electrically conductive rails embedded in the track surface.

    Abstract: A pivotable vane positioned between lanes of a multi-laned track is actuated by a toy vehicle to obstruct one of the lanes after the vehicle has passed. In a slotless track any pursuing vehicle in an obstructed lane must be diverted to another lane or collide with the obstacle which is designed to throw a colliding vehicle off the track. In a slotted track, the pursuing vehicle in an obstructed lane must wait for the competitor to clear the obstacle.

    Abstract: A pivotable ramp device for use in connection with track games having toy vehicles. The device includes a base which is selectively coupleable to a position along the track of the track game. The base pivotally supports a ramp at a laterally extending axis elevated above the surface of the track, the axis centrally intersecting the ramp to define two sides of the ramp. A first side of the ramp is the entrance side and a second side of the ramp is the exit side. The ramp is pivotally displaceable between a first position where the end of the entrance side contacts the track for permitting a toy vehicle traveling towards the ramp to ride up the entrance side onto the ramp and a second position where the end of the exit side contacts the track for permitting the toy vehicle thereon to ride down the ramp and back onto the track, or to permit a toy vehicle to pass under the ramp and pivotally displace the ramp out of the path of the vehicle.

    Abstract: Improved traveler and guide rail apparatus for use with a garage door operator includes an elongated guide rail having a longitudinal screw channel and outwardly extending integral flanges disposed along the screw channel. An elongated T-shaped flange extends upwardly from the screw channel. An improved traveler apparatus for use with the guide rail includes a screw-driven traveler and a coupling traveler, each mounted on respective tracks formed by separate outside surfaces of the guide rail. The screw-driven traveler carries a nut engaging a screw in the screw channel through a slot between the flanges and further includes opposed U-shaped channels slidably mounted over the exterior surfaces of the guide rail flanges for slidable movement along the guide rail.

    Abstract: An improved traveler apparatus includes a screw-driven traveler and a coupling traveler which are both slidably mounted within a track that is formed by the interior surfaces of opposed U-shaped channels of a guide rail. The guide rail also includes a screw channel which communicates through a longitudinal slot with the track. The screw-driven traveler includes a nut that engages a screw in the screw channel through the slot. The coupling traveler includes a manually actuable, bistable latch to selectively engage and disengage the coupling traveler and the screw-driven traveler for cooperative and independent slidable movement within the track, respectively, and the coupling traveler is adapted for connection to a closure, such as a garage door, to open or close same as the coupling traveler is moved along the track.

    Abstract: An improved position control apparatus is disclosed to control a motor-driven door operator to halt movement of a door at an open position and a closed position. The position control apparatus includes a control screw means in the form of a threaded shaft extension of the motor shaft or a threaded rod coupled to the motor shaft which is rotated when the motor is energized. A travel nut is threadedly engaged with the control screw means and is constrained against rotational motion so as to reciprocate along the control screw means. Position detection means, such as switches, are disposed near the control screw means for actuation by the travel nut to control the motor as the door approaches the open position and the closed position. In another embodiment, a toggle switch is mounted on the travel nut, and the switches are replaced by stops for actuation of the toggle switch to control the motor.
