Abstract: A packaging system including a heat shrinkable flexible wall container and a heat shrinkable label is described. The label can be applied to the container prior to heat shrinking. Upon subjecting the labeled container containing the items or goods of interest to a heat shrink operation, the label and flexible wall container both undergo shrinking. The shrinkage characteristics of the flexible wall container and the label are matched to one another. Also described are various methods of packaging using the noted systems.

The container includes a peel tab for opening the container to thereby gain access to the container interior and contents therein. The container further includes pull tab provisions which must be at least partially separated from a container substrate, in order to gain access to the peel tab. Separation of the pull tab provisions provides indication of tampering or prior opening attempts. Related methods of providing such indication are also described.

Abstract: A resealable package assembly is described. The package assembly includes a selectively positionable flap that covers an aperture or enables access through the aperture into the package. The flap and package include provisions for releasably engaging the flap to the package to seal the interior of the package. Provisions for grasping the tab and indicating whether tampering has occurred are also described.

The assembly includes a container and a multilayer cover laminate that are bonded to one another to initially seal the contents of the package. The package can then be easily opened by at least partially separating the cover laminate along a predesignated interface. The package can be reliably and effectively sealed by recontacting the previously separated cover portions to one another.

Abstract: A multi-layer valve is provided for allowing oxygen to enter a package while maintaining a level of fluid and leak resistance. The multi-layer valve includes a first layer of adhesive that has a top and bottom face with the bottom face being adhered to a release liner. A permeable layer is provided over the first layer of adhesive, a second layer of adhesive that has a top and bottom face. The bottom face of the first adhesive layer is adhered to the permeable layer and the top face of the first adhesive layer is adhered to a cover layer such that the bottom face of the second layer of adhesive is separable from the permeable layer while the top face of the second layer of adhesive maintains adhesion with the cover layer.
