    Abstract: There is provided a flanged drive-head lock washer for use in combination with a wedge-action-type fastener, wherein the fastener includes a bolt or screw member having a cam nut or cam head. The flanged drive-head washer is formed having a nut-like body and a plurality of wrench-engaging sides to match the sides of the particular nut or head of a bolt. The upper face of the washer comprises a plurality of cam members arranged to lockingly engage the corresponding cam surface formed on the contacting surface of the cam nut or cam head. The lower surface of the washer is formed having a frictional surface defined by an enlarged annular flange. The matching cam surfaces are arranged to align the corresponding wrench-engaging side walls, whereby the cam nut or cam head can be simultaneously rotated during removal of the fastener without affecting the integrity of the fastener.

    Abstract: A reversible lock washer having oppositely disposed cam surfaces adapted for use in combination with a threaded fastener of the type wherein a screw head or nut includes at least one cam surface arranged to engage at least one cam-engaging surface of the reversible lock washer, the cam surfaces of the washer being formed on the inner recessed ring of the washer body. The washer body includes an outer raised peripheral ring having a frictional surface formed on the opposite sides thereof, whereby the washer body is provided with a pair of identical cam and frictional surfaces, thus allowing the washer to be positioned randomly between the engageable cam surface of the nut or screw head and the respective workpiece which is engaged by the frictional surface of the outer peripheral ring, and wherein one arrangement of the nut includes two oppositely disposed reversible cam surfaces, whereby it too can be randomly positioned over the reversible lock washer.
