Abstract: Modified starch encapsulated oil particles, and a process for making said particles and products comprising such particles are disclosed. Such particles provide a simple, efficient and effective delivery system that can be used to deliver oils to compositions.

Abstract: A process for producing an agglomerated detergent composition comprises premixing an acid precursor of a detersive surfactant and a water-soluble or dispersible, modified polyamine in a mixer to form a premix, inputting the premix and dry detergent materials such as builders into a high speed mixer/densifier and neutralizing the acid precursor to form agglomerates and further agglomerating in a moderate speed mixer/densifier to form a detergent composition having a bulk density of at least 650 g/l.

Abstract: A process is provided in which selected modified polyamines are incorporated into fully formulated detergent compositions in a manner that unexpectedly results in enhanced cleaning performance. The process involves premixing the modified polyamine with a detersive surfactant or acid precursor thereof, and thereafter, adding adjunct ingredients such as builders and water. The entire mixture is then spray dried to form spray-dried granular detergent composition.

The preferred delivery system is liquid activators complexed with a cyclodextrin. preferably beta-cyclodextrin. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing the liquid bleach activator/cyclodextrin complexes described herein.

Abstract: The subject invention involves processes for making granular compositions comprising soil release polymers, the polymers comprising at least about 10% of substantially linear esters having a backbone; the esters being uncapped or end-capped on one or both ends of the backbone; the esters comprising in their backbones oxyalkyleneoxy units and hydrophobic aryldicarbonyl units; the esters having a molecular weight of from about 500 to about 20,000; the polymers if in solid state having the tendency when exposed to moisture to spontaneously rearrange from an amorphous form which is readily soluble in water to a crystalline form which is relatively insoluble in water; the process comprising the following steps:a) taking the soil release polymers, in which are dispersed from 0% to about 25% alkylaryl or alkyl sulfonate crystallization-reducing stabilizers, in molten state at a temperature of at least about 180.degree. C.

Abstract: A process for continuously preparing low density detergent agglomerates is provided. The process comprises the steps of: (a) spray drying an aqueous mixture of sodium sulfate, sodium carbonate and a minor amount of a surfactant so as to form spray dried granules containing an inorganic double salt having the formula Na.sub.2 SO.sub.4 .multidot.Na.sub.2 CO.sub.3 and a minor amount of the surfactant; (b) agglomerating the spray dried granules with a detergent surfactant paste or precursor thereof and adjunct detergent material initially in a high speed mixer and subsequently in a moderate speed mixer to obtain detergent agglomerates, wherein the adjunct detergent material includes an adjunct sodium carbonate material; and (c) drying or cooling the detergent agglomerates so as to form the detergent composition having a density of below about 500 g/l.
