  • Patent number: 10032275
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for automating the verification of aerial vehicle sensors as part of a pre-flight, flight departure, in-transit flight, and/or delivery destination calibration verification process. At different stages, aerial vehicle sensors may obtain sensor measurements about objects within an environment, the obtained measurements may be processed to determine information about the object, as presented in the measurements, and the processed information may be compared with the actual information about the object to determine a variation or difference between the information. If the variation is within a tolerance range, the sensor may be auto adjusted and operation of the aerial vehicle may continue. If the variation exceeds a correction range, flight of the aerial vehicle may be aborted and the aerial vehicle routed for a full sensor calibration.

  • Patent number: 7819282
Abstract: A newspaper vending machine includes a dispensing sled and an elevator supported by a frame within a housing. The elevator includes a base slidable between a rearward position, for loading a stack of newspapers, and a forward position. The dispensing sled engages the newspaper stack and is translatable between upper and lower positions to dispense the periodicals from an exit area. An actuation arm projects outwardly from a front panel for engagement by a user and is translated along a substantially vertical pathway as the dispensing sled is moved between its upper and lower positions. The frame of the vending machine is translatably supported on rails for movement between a retracted condition in which the frame is located within the interior and an extended condition in which the frame extends beyond a front end of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6279719
Abstract: A vending machine for dispensing a single publication product at a time. The vending machine includes a housing with a front wall, back wall, side walls, top wall and bottom wall. A door is hinged to the front wall on the housing and forms part of a display case for displaying information regarding the product being dispensed. An elevator is located within the housing and slidable from a position near the back wall toward the front wall, the elevator adapted to contain a stack of products being dispensed. A dispensing assembly is mounted within housing and forward of the elevator. The dispensing assembly includes a dispensing sled which is translatable from an upper position to a lower position. The dispensing sled is adapted to engage a publication product located on the elevator and to slide the publication product toward a dispensing area located at the bottom of the housing. An actuation arm is attached to the dispensing sled and pivotally mounted to the housing.

  • Patent number: 4796395
Abstract: A solarium structure provides a muntinless exterior appearance by eliminating the outer retaining member of the horizontal muntins. The glazing panels are supported between an inner supporting member and an outer retaining member of the mullions and by the top and leg of an inner supporting horizontal muntin. The space between the glazing panels which overlies the legs of the T's of the substantially horizontal muntins is covered by a caulking material, which is preferably a silicone material.

  • Patent number: 4583658
Abstract: A single newspaper vending machine comprises a cabinet and a gate unit, a paper support unit, and a paper display unit, each removably mounted on the cabinet. Newspapers are stacked on a spring loaded elevator within the cabinet. The gate unit is mounted at the top of the cabinet and includes a dispensing mechanism which is reciprocable between rear and forward positions for partially dispensing a top paper on the elevator to the paper support unit so that the front edge of the paper enters a paper access zone between the gate unit and the paper support unit. A coin mechanism operates a dispensing mechanism latch so as to lock the dispensing mechanism in the rear position until the proper amount of coins has been inserted. The gate unit also includes a blocking mechanism for preventing withdrawal of any paper from the elevator when the dispensing mechanism is in the rear position and for preventing withdrawal of a second paper from the elevator when the dispensing mechanism is in the forward position.

  • Patent number: 4293292
Abstract: Plural sticks for collecting candy floss are stored in a removable annular storage facility. The sticks are automatically dispensed, one at a time, from the storage facility. A dispensed stick is retained in a collar and sleeve arrangement. A mechanism permits relative rotation between the collar and sleeve to insure proper alignment and reception of the stick. The collar and sleeve arrangement clamps and rotates the stick about its own axis. A rotary head for producing floss is rotated as the stick is rotated. A rotary drum surrounding the head sweeps the floss towards the stick. During the machine cycle, heat is applied to the head to enable the head to produce the floss. When the application of heat to the head ceases, the head, drum and stick continue to be rotated for a "run-off" period of time. During the "run-off" time, floss which would otherwise accumulate in the machine is spun off and collected by the stick. The rate at which heat is initially applied to the head is adjustable.
