  • Patent number: 9656690
Abstract: A method of providing parking assistance in a vehicle includes identifying with a controller in a vehicle a plurality of available parking spaces for the vehicle, generating with a video output device operatively connected to the controller an interface with a graphical depiction of the vehicle and the plurality of available parking spaces, receiving a first input gesture with a gesture input device to select one parking space from the plurality of available parking spaces, and operating the vehicle to park the vehicle in the one parking space using the controller configured with a parking assistance service in the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20110241857
Abstract: A driver assistance method for moving a motor vehicle, in particular for avoiding collisions, using at least one first sensor system which provides first items of obstacle information within a first detection zone for notifying the motor vehicle driver of an obstacle while an obstacle is located in the first detection zone, and using at least one second sensor system, which provides second items of obstacle information within a second detection zone which is located at an angle greater than 0° in relation to the first detection zone even if the obstacle is no longer located in the second detection zone. It is provided that the first and second items of obstacle information are combined in such a way that detection errors of the sensor systems are corrected and an updated item of obstacle information is provided. Also described is a driver assistance device, in particular for carrying out the driver assistance method according to the aforementioned embodiments.

  • Patent number: 8018351
Abstract: A method providing assistance during the parking maneuver of a vehicle into a parking space situated laterally to the vehicle to be parked, an erroneous length of the parking space being detected with the aid of a sensor system of the vehicle while the vehicle drives past the parking space on a curved trajectory. To determine the actual length of the parking space, a trajectory of the vehicle differing from a straight trajectory of the vehicle is additionally detected while driving past the parking space, for example, on the basis of the steering angle of the vehicle, and a correction value for the detected length of the parking space is ascertained therefrom. The actual length of the parking space is determined with a high degree of accuracy without the need for other measured values to be detected, for example, the orientation of parked vehicles or the depth of the parking space.

  • Publication number: 20100332078
Abstract: In a method for operating a parking aid system for a vehicle having a plurality of distance sensors each sensing the near range of the vehicle, and having at least one path sensor sensing a path traveled by the vehicle, the distance sensors are operable in a first mode for the parking space measurement, and the distance sensors are operable in at least one further mode in which they are used as parking aid in order to avoid collisions. The distance sensors are temporally activated using different transmit sequences in the two modes, a switchover between the different transmit sequences being implemented as a function of the movement of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7298461
Abstract: The present invention relates to a far field light microscopical method, respectively a system and a computer program product for analysing at least one object having a subwavelength size in at least one spatial direction to obtain spatial information of the object, in particular size and topology thereof, comprising the steps of:—labelling the object(s) with one or more suitable optical markers;—providing suitably structured illumination light to at least partially illuminate the object(s);—subjecting the object(s) to the structured illumination light;—detecting an optical response of the object(s);—obtaining the spatial information of the object(s) by comparing the obtained response with simulation data of an optical response of object(s) having known spatial information.
