  • Patent number: 7270460
Abstract: In a brake light (1) comprising at least one rod-shaped optical fiber (9) and at least one light source, wherein the light from the light source is coupled into the optical fiber (9) at its end face and is decoupled from the optical fiber (9) via a peripheral exit surface (11), in accordance with the invention, two rod-shaped optical fibers (9) are disposed one after another in the longitudinal direction of the brake light (1), wherein the at least one light source is disposed between the two optical fibers (9).

Date of Patent: September 18, 2007
Assignee: Sidler GmbH & Co. KG
    Inventors: Bernd Merz, Volker Sandtrock
  • Publication number: 20060103544
Abstract: The light source of a vehicle light is formed by several COB-LED chips which are disposed on a common printed circuit board and are electrically connected in series.

  • Patent number: 6536923
Abstract: An optical attachment 10 for a light source, in particular for a light-emitting diode 12, exhibits an inner lens area 14 which surrounds an optical axis 13 of the optical attachment 10 for inner light beams 15 emitted from the light source and an outer reflector area 16 for outer light beams 17 of the light source which surrounds the inner lens area 14 in a ring-like manner. Due to this combination of refraction in the inner lens area and reflection in the outer reflector area, the dimensions of the optical attachment can be kept relatively small and, in comparison to a lens or a reflector, more light can be collected and the point-shaped light diode can be imaged on the exiting side as a large area light appearance.

  • Patent number: 6502969
Abstract: A light arrangement for a vehicle which includes a light housing from which light from a light source emerges through a first outlet opening. At least a second light outlet is also provided on the light housing. Moreover, at least one screen section is movably disposed, in the light housing which either covers or releases the path of rays of the light between light source and second outlet opening. A bulb can thus either meet an interior or reading light function which saves components, cost and space.

  • Publication number: 20010046141
Abstract: A light arrangement (1) comprising at least two spaced apart contact plates (3,5) and comprising several LEDs connected to the contact plates (3,5) in an electrically conducting fashion. The contact plates (3,5) are spaced apart from one another by an electrically insulating carrier (6) thereby achieving an optimum heat conduction from the LEDs. The LEDs are electrically mounted to projections extending from one of the contact plates towards the other contact plate. The carrier (6) is preferably a plastic layer covering at least part of the contact plates (3,5).
