Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for acquiring a specialized Control User Interface (CUI) in a remote control device of home network. A first message is transmitted to a client requesting a User Interface (UI) list. The UI list is received from the client. The UI list comprises specialized CUI information from a server. A second message is transmitted to the client requesting the specialized CUI in accordance with the specialized CUI information in the UI list. The specialized CUI is received from the server via the client.

Abstract: A method for providing a notification message in a transmitter of a mobile broadcast system supporting an interaction channel is disclosed. Upon an occurrence of a notification event, a first means generates a notification message, and generates at least one delivery request message including a target address based on subscription information of the corresponding terminal, using the generated notification message. A second means determines a channel over which it will deliver a notification message to the corresponding terminal based on the target address, and delivers the notification message over the determined channel.

Abstract: A method for providing a client with a playlist of content segments accessible in a live streaming service provided in a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) adaptive streaming format is provided. A live content processing method for a broadcast system includes transmitting and updating content-related information sent from a server to a client, checking, at the client, content segments accessible in real time and saving a previous content-related information, retrieving the content segments playable by referencing the previous content-related information, determining, at the client, whether the content requested for playback can be playable using a playlist, and notifying the user of the playback result.

Abstract: An Internet broadcasting system for supporting broadcast services by using Internet Protocol (IP), and more particularly an apparatus and method for providing a user's preferred contents in an Internet broadcasting system are provided. The method of providing contents in an Internet broadcasting system includes searching for contents in an Electronic Program Guide (EPG) according to a user preference, constituting a user channel, based on the searched contents and providing a terminal with the searched contents according to the user channel.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for efficiently providing a multi-content, including a plurality of contents in one service, by means of a service guide upon providing the multi-content in an Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) mobile broadcasting system. When a broadcast transmitting apparatus provides a broadcast receiving apparatus with a multi-content by inserting a plurality of content into one service, the broadcast transmitting apparatus sets one of the plurality of content as a primary content, and provides a service guide including primary-content setting information to the broadcast receiving apparatus. The primary content represents a content set to be primarily provided to a user, among a plurality of content included in one service and simultaneously provided during a specific time period. The primary-content setting information represents information for identifying the primary content. The primary-content setting information may be included in a content fragment or schedule fragment of a service guide.

Abstract: A mobile broadcast system for delivering a notification event for generation of a notification message for information provisioning to a subscriber receiving a broadcast service is provided. The mobile broadcast system includes a first apparatus for managing subscriber information of the broadcast service, handling generation of at least one notification message according to at least one notification event, and generating a response message indicating generation end of the notification message; and a second apparatus for sending a notification event message for requesting generation of the notification message to the first apparatus according to the at least one notification event, receiving the response message in response thereto, and then handling delivery of the notification message over a broadcast channel or an interaction channel.

Abstract: A first terminal subscribes to at least one service using a service guide in which information necessary for reception of each service is stored, and sends the service guide and an identifier (ID) of the subscribed service to a smartcard. The smartcard stores the service guide and the ID of the subscribed service, and sends the service guide and the ID of the subscribed service to a second terminal through a response message to a request message used for acquiring TBK information, received from the second terminal. The second terminal receives the response message by sending the request message to the smartcard, acquires TBK information corresponding to a service that the second terminal intends to play back, from the service guide depending on the subscribed service's ID included in the response message, and acquires the TBK by performing an authentication process using the TBK information.

Abstract: Service guide transmission/reception methods and apparatuses for providing users with a service guide supporting multiplay service are provided. Service guide delivery information is received at a terminal. Device class grouping information is extracted from the Service guide delivery information. A Service Guide Data Unit (SGDU) having service guide information required for composing a service guide matched to the terminal is received. The service guide composed using the service guide information received by means of the SGDU is displayed.

Abstract: A method for changing a subscription status of a service in a mobile communication system, and a system thereof. A method is provided for changing a subscription status of a service by a terminal in a mobile communication system. The method includes transmitting a pause request message, in which a pause period of the subscription status is included, to a network entity; receiving, from the network entity, a pause response message including therein a possible pause period for the pause period included in the pause request message, and a trigger for changing validity for a Long-term Key stored in the terminal; and changing validity for the Long-term Key using the trigger for the possible pause period included in the pause response message.

Abstract: Provided is a broadcasting system based on a network using an Internet protocol (IP). In the broadcasting system, a broadcast transmitter previously transmits first access information including a first network address for transmitting a general notification message and second access information associated with management of the broadcasting system, to a broadcast receiver. If a general notification event occurs, the general notification message is generated and the generated general notification message is transmitted to the broadcast receiver via one of a broadcast network and an interaction network using the first network address. The broadcast receiver receives a general notification message based on the first network address in data received from the broadcast transmitter.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing broadcast content by an adaptive streaming service and a system using the same are provided, in which a content transmission server configures and transmits a manifest file including a content IDentifier (ID), and a client device receives the manifest file, determines whether the content ID included in the manifest file is identical to an ID of user-requested content for recording, and records a content segment received from a content providing server, if the content ID included in the manifest file is identical to the ID of the user-requested content.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for sharing a service guide or a service guide fragment in a mobile broadcast system supporting a mobile broadcast service. A Broadcast Service Provisioning Client Function (BSP-C) sends a request for the service guide or service guide fragment to a Broadcast Service Provisioning Management Function (BSP-M). The BSP-M transmits the service guide or service guide fragment to the BSP-C if the BSP-M has the service guide or service guide fragment.

Abstract: A remote user interface system and method for effectively controlling functions of a client device and remote user interface rendered on the client device by means of a client-specific or content-specific control user interface rendered on a remote control device is provided. A method for controlling a remote user interface device with a remote control device includes broadcasting, at the remote control device, a discovery message for discovering the remote user interface device; performing, when a response is received, a capability exchange and matching with the remote user interface device; rendering a control user interface transmitted by the remote user interface device and displaying the rendered control user interface on a screen; and transmitting, when an input is detected on the control user interface, a control command corresponding to the input to the remote user interface device.

The apparatus and method include a terminal for receiving a first SG, for acquiring reception information about a second SG from the first SG, if a service fragment list extracted from the first SG includes information about at least one second SG different from the first SG, and for receiving the second SG based on the acquired reception information.

Abstract: A method of updating software of terminals in a mobile broadcast system is provided. The method includes creating an update command for terminals of a particular model, the update command including update information; and broadcasting the created update command. The update information includes software version information and at least one of terminal manufacturer information and terminal model information. Further, the method may further include, before broadcasting the created update command, forcibly requiring terminals subscribe to an update service; and creating and broadcasting an update file for terminals of the particular model from among the forcibly subscribed terminals. The software of the terminals may be firmware.

Abstract: A unified device management method and system for unified management of a fixed and mobile device includes a command execution controller which receives a device management command, sends a query message to the device, receives a response message transmitted by the device, creates a command execution policy based on the settings contained in the response message, and executes the device management command according to a policy, the device which generates and sends the response message to the command execution controller according to user inputs, and a remote access server which connects the device and the command execution controller by using a remote access protocol.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for inserting an advertisement in a broadcasting system based on adaptive streaming To this end, content related information for advertisement content is generated by an advertisement providing server and a content transmitting server. A client is informed of an update required time of the content related information to receive new content related information from the content transmitting server. Therefore, the advertisement content can be reproduced in a set period.
