  • Publication number: 20200208594
Abstract: A fluid connector, including a tubular member, a connector body, including an exterior opening groove, and a retainer clip to lock the tubular member to the connector body, an assurance cap including one or more latch fingers engaged with the exterior opening groove, and a tool, including an annular collar mountable over the tubular member, and a plurality of fingers carried on and extending axially from the annular collar, the plurality of fingers operatively arranged to engage the latch fingers when the collar and the plurality of fingers are engaged with the assurance cap to disengage the latch fingers from the exterior opening groove to disconnect the assurance cap from the connector body.

  • Patent number: 10221976
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a quick connector with a lock connection. The quick connector includes a quick connector body and a mating component including an external spacing recess. The component includes a step bore extending from a first end. A seal member is mounted on the step surface for sealing connection to a tubular component inserted through the quick connector body into the bore end component. Material is displaced from the component into the body or from the body into the component to mechanically lock and fluidically seal the body in the first component.

  • Publication number: 20170114935
Abstract: A disconnect tool for disconnecting an assurance cap mounted over a tubular member of a fluid connector assembly in a connector body to which the tubular member is locked by a retainer clip carried on the connector body. The disconnect tool includes an annular collar. A plurality of axial fingers extend from the collar and engage primary latch fingers of the assurance cap where end projections of the primary latch fingers are locked in a exterior groove on the connector body. Insertion of the disconnect tool through the assurance cap urges the ends of the fingers into engagement with the primary latch fingers of the assurance cap bending the primary fingers radially outward to separate the projections of the primary latch fingers from the groove on the connector body enabling the assurance cap to be separated from the connector body.

  • Publication number: 20150145240
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a quick connector with a lock connection. The quick connector includes a quick connector body and a mating component on of which having, in one aspect, an external spacing recess. The component has a step bore extending from a first end. A seal member is mounted on the step surface for sealing connection to a tubular component inserted through the quick connector body into the bore end component. Material is displaced from the component into the body or from the body into the component to mechanically lock and fluidically seal the body in the first component. In another aspect, one or more roll pins are inserted through aligned openings in the first component in the body. The roll pin expands to form an interference connection between the body and the component. In another aspect, a projection formed on one of a component in the body are used to projection weld the body to the component.
