The volume of the internal mass portion increases in a top-to-sole direction, and the height of the internal mass portion is greater than the width of the internal mass portion. The bell-shaped curve is located a distance D1 from the face portion and the second region comprises a recess portion. The plurality of crown apertures is defined within the recessed portion.

Each projection is defined by a plurality of grooves intersecting one another within the face portion. The plurality of projections are each defined by an area ratio between a base portion area and a peak portion area.
