  • Patent number: 10284905
Abstract: A method and apparatus in which a Tap-Weight Computer (TWC) calculates a Tap-Weight Vector (TWV). The TWV is coupled to a register in each of a plurality of adaptive filter modules. Each such adaptive filter module includes several adaptive filters that each include a tapped delay line. The input to the tapped delay line of each such adaptive filter is one of a plurality of potential interfering signals. The TWV controls the weighting of the outputs from the taps off the delay line. The weighted outputs from each tapped delay line are then subtracted from a received signal which potentially includes interference from the potential interfering signals. The TWC is multiplexed to each of the plurality of adaptive filters so that each adaptive filter is loaded with a TWV calculated by the TWC to reduce the amount of interference contributed by a particular potential interfering signal coupled to an input to that particular adaptive filter.

  • Patent number: 10261534
Abstract: Methods and systems for a low-dropout regulator may comprise a voltage regulator comprising: (a) a pass transistor having a first terminal at a control gate, a voltage input at a second terminal, and a voltage output at a third terminal, and (b) an adaptive control circuit (ACC), electrically coupled to a reference voltage and each of the terminals of the pass transistor. The ACC may determine a ?V between the second and third terminals and cause an error signal to be applied to the first terminal to keep ?V essentially constant as the voltage input varies. The ACC may include a voltage summing circuit electrically coupled to the reference voltage and the input voltage to generate a comparison value. An error amplifier electrically coupled to the control gate and to the voltage summing circuit may generate the error signal from the comparison value and the output voltage.

  • Publication number: 20190074992
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for power management in communication devices, particularly based on cable connectivity. In a communication device that includes a communication port, including a first connector and a signal path communicatively coupled to the connector, measurements associated with the signal path may be obtained. Based on the obtained measurements, it may be determined whether an external cable is mated to the connector, and the communication device may be transition to a sleep mode when it is determined that the external cable is not mated to the connector. Determining whether the external cable is mated may be based on detecting presence or absence of a signal on the signal path, based on evaluating signal characteristics of a signal present on the signal path, measuring of voltage or current at the communication port, and/or energy measurements associated with one or more particular frequencies.

  • Patent number: 10146284
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing power to a home entertainment integrated circuit chip are disclosed. The home entertainment integrated circuit chip can operate in at least two power control modes: “power on” mode and “standby” mode. In power on mode, power is supplied to IC core module from a main power supply. The power supplied to the IC core module is isolated from power supplied to a standby island. Accordingly, during the second mode power is applied only to the standby power island through a regulator internal to the integrated circuit chip. The regulator is coupled to an external peripheral input/output (I/O) power supply that is independent of the main power supply.

  • Publication number: 20180248741
Abstract: A transceiver comprising a transmitter and a receiver is a component of a user terminal. A transmitter-check signal is transmitted from the transceiver to a remote node. Errors in the transmitter-check signal are measured at the remote node. Transmitter-correction information based on the errors is determined within the remote node and sent back to the user terminal. The user terminal utilizes the transmitter-correction information to set a correction module in the terminal to counteract the errors within the transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20180241347
Abstract: Circuits and methods for reducing the cost and/or power consumption of a user terminal and/or the gateway of a telecommunications system (550) that may include a telecommunications satellite. Embodiments generate a dynamic input bias signal based upon an information signal envelope (which may be pre-distorted) which is applied to the signal input of a power amplifier (PA), thus reducing average power consumption. Other embodiments further include dynamic linearization (518) of the information signal, and/or variation of the supply voltage to the power amplifier (PA) as a function of the envelope of the information signal. Another aspect is a multi-stage “chained” feedback regulated voltage supply circuit for providing two or more output voltages that may be used as alternative supply voltages to a power amplifier (PA).
