  • Patent number: 9654323
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for causing orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission of various portions of data via various nodes. For example, a first portion of the data may be transmitted, via a first node and using OFDM, to at least a second node. Based on one or more observed capacities associated with one or more nodes (such as the first node and/or another node), it may be determined that a second portion of the data is to be routed via a different node (such as a third node) for transmission. The second portion of the data may be transmitted, via the third node and using OFDM, to at least the second node.

  • Patent number: 9648444
Abstract: A method and apparatus for physically secure communication over machine-to-machine (M2M) networks is claimed, through the use of frequency-hop and random access spread spectrum modulation formats employing using truly random spreading codes and time/frequency hopping and receiver selection strategies at the transmitters in the M2M network, blind signal detection and linear signal separation techniques at the receivers in the M2M network, completely eliminating the ability for an adversary to predict and override M2M transmissions. Additional physical security protocols are also introduced that allow the network to easily detect and identify spoofing transmissions on uplinks and downlinks, and to automatically excise those transmissions as part of the despreading procedure, even if those transmissions are received at a much higher power level than the intended transmissions.

  • Publication number: 20170026205
Abstract: An apparatus and digital signal processing means are disclosed for excision of co-channel interference from signals received in crowded or hostile environments using spatial/polarization diverse arrays, which reliably and rapidly identifies signals with transmitted features that are almost-periodic over known framing intervals, and exploits those features to develop diversity combining weights that substantively extract those signals from that environment, based on differing diversity signature, timing offset, and carrier offset of those signals. In one embodiment, the signal identification and extraction is performed in an appliqué that can be implemented without coordination with an actual radio transceiver.

  • Patent number: 9515788
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for determining a plurality of transmission levels for, e.g., a plurality of time-frequency channels and/or a plurality of tones. The transmission levels may be determined by a first node based on, for example, a received transmission from a second node. The first node may generate a signal, which may be based on, for example, an originator-based pseudorandom sequence, a recipient-based pseudorandom sequence, and/or a complex sinusoid. The first node may transmit the signal as an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission.

  • Publication number: 20160204914
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for transmitting data to a node using a plurality of radio frequency channels. The data may be allocated, based on feedback from the node, into various portions amongst multiple radio frequency channels and/or amongst tones associated with the radio frequency channels. The data portions may be transmitted to the node, using frequency diversity, via respective radio frequency channels as at least part of respective orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmissions, which may be at least partially concurrent transmissions.

  • Patent number: 9391745
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission of data associated with multiple nodes and/or users. A plurality of weights may be determined based on, for example, feedback from one or more nodes. The feedback from each node may be indicative of weighting information. A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)-capable node may transmit OFDM transmissions, which may be time and frequency coincident, using the plurality of weights. For example, the MIMO-capable node may transmit a first OFDM transmission using at least a first weight of the plurality of weights and a second OFDM transmission using at least a second weight of the plurality of weights. This may allow the MIMO-capable node to, for example, transmit OFDM transmissions to multiple users via one or more common time-frequency channels.

  • Publication number: 20160124903
Abstract: A method is explained for any adaptive processor processing digital signals by adjusting signal weights on digital signal(s) it handles, to optimize adaptation criteria responsive to a functional purpose or externalities (transient, temporary, situational, and even permanent) of that processor. Adaptation criteria for the adaptive algorithm may be any combination of a signal or parameter estimation, and measured quality(ies). This method performs a linear transformation adapting parameters from M to (M1+L) dimensions in each adaptation event, such that M1 weights are updated without constraints and M0=M?M1 weights are forced by soft constraints into an L-dimensional subspace they spanned at the beginning of the adaptation period. The same dimensionality reduction, using the same linear transformation, is applied to the input data.
