  • Patent number: 9976543
Abstract: A transmission for a motor vehicle includes an input shaft, a transmission pump, a transmission sump and a pump-driving element, which is preferably a drive gear. The drive gear and the transmission pump are located in the transmission sump. Power is transmitted from the input shaft to the transmission pump through the drive gear. In a preferred embodiment, power is transmitted from the input shaft to the drive gear through at least one gear, and from the drive gear to the transmission pump through a pump shaft. The drive gear is preferably at least partially enclosed by a shroud, coupled to the transmission pump, in order to separate the drive gear from transmission fluid located in the transmission sump and thereby reduce drag on the drive gear. The shroud preferably also includes a discharge port so that transmission fluid located in the shroud is expelled through the discharge port when the drive gear rotates.

  • Publication number: 20170098215
Abstract: A data protection system for online data is described that can be used to obfuscate sensitive data to relieve security compliance requirements for one or more entities involved in processing, storing, and/or communicating the sensitive data to complete an online purchase transaction. The data protection system can receive online purchase data from a client application, and then remove the sensitive information of the online purchase data to sanitize the online purchase data. The data protection system can also maintain the sensitive information, and communicate the sanitized online purchase data to an eCommerce server that then communicates with a payment service provider for payment authorization of the online purchase, where the sanitized online purchase data relieves security compliance requirements at the eCommerce server.

  • Patent number: 8561208
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for handling secure user interface content. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, at a data processing apparatus, content over a communication network from a computing system separate from the data processing apparatus; determining that the received content is authentic secure content; retrieving information stored at the data processing apparatus and previously selected by a user for purposes of securing user interface content; rendering the received content, to a display of the data processing apparatus, as a user interface with a visual wrapper, where the visual wrapper includes the retrieved information, visually separates the user interface from other visual elements on the display, and includes an indication that the user interface is secure; and processing input received through the user interface.

  • Publication number: 20110296305
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for matching media files stored in a media player device to media files stored in a computing device. In one embodiment, a method includes scanning a media player device for one or more media files, detecting an identifier associated with each media file stored on the media player device, wherein identifiers are generated by a media management application, and checking if detected identifiers associated with media files stored in the media player device correspond to identifiers associated with media files stored in the computing device. The method may also include determining one or more graphical indicators for a user interface of the media management application based on said checking. According to another embodiment, a user interface may be provided for a media management application by a computing device.

  • Patent number: 7491878
Abstract: A music generation engine automatically generates musical compositions by accessing musical sections and corresponding properties including similarity factors that provide a quantified indication of the similarity of musical sections to one another (e.g., a percentage of similarity). A sequential relationship of the musical sections is then determined according to an algorithmic process that uses the similarity factors to assess the desirability of the sequential relationship. The algorithmically created musical composition may then be stored, such as by rendering the composition as an audio file or by storing a library file that refers to the musical sections. The created musical composition may include layers respectively having different audio elements such that the created musical composition has a first dimension along a timeline and a second dimension that provides a depth based upon the presence of different audio elements.
