  • Patent number: 10042964
Abstract: A method of evaluating a part is characterized by obtaining data representing a distress rank model (DRM) and a cumulative damage model (CDM) for the part. Based on the data, the method ascertains a DRM value for the part and a CDM value for the part. The method determines whether the DRM value is at or above a predetermined DRM threshold and whether a CDM value is at or above a predetermined CDM threshold. If either the DRM value or the CDM value is at or above at least one respective threshold, an action related to the part is generated.

  • Publication number: 20180200450
Abstract: Disclosed are plunger assemblies including various convertible plungers and methods of making the same. Each plunger assembly is configured for disposition within a barrel of a medical container, e.g., a syringe, and displaced within the barrel from an engagement position to a release position. The engagement position is configured to provide a compression seal between a storage sealing section of the plunger and an inner wall of the syringe barrel. In the release position, the compression seal is reduced or eliminated. Also disclosed are methods for making convertible plungers and as assembling them into syringes, e.g., pre-filled syringes.

  • Publication number: 20180106329
Abstract: A transmission comprising an input shaft connectable to a power generation device such that the input shaft is rotatable at a power input rotational speed, an output shaft connectable to a driveline of the vehicle, and a plurality of gear sets selectable to operably connect the input shaft to the output shaft providing a rotational speed reduction ratio therebetween. The gear sets comprise a master active gear set having a master gear ratio, a slave active gear set having a slave gear ratio, and a passive gear set having a passive gear ratio. The passive gear set is operable to selectively engage the master and slave active gear sets to provide the high numeric compound ratio rotational speed reduction that is the product of the master active gear ratio, the slave active gear ratio and the passive gear ratio.

  • Patent number: 9863042
Abstract: A method for coating a substrate surface such as a syringe part by PECVD is provided, the method comprising generating a plasma from a gaseous reactant comprising an organosilicon precursor and optionally an oxidizing gas by providing plasma-forming energy adjacent to the substrate, thus forming a coating on the substrate surface by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD). The plasma-forming energy is applied in a first phase as a first pulse at a first energy level followed by further treatment in a second phase at a second energy level lower than the first energy level. The lubricity, hydrophobicity and/or barrier properties of the coating are set by setting the ratio of the O2 to the organosilicon precursor in the gaseous reactant, and/or by setting the electric power used for generating the plasma.

  • Publication number: 20170242567
Abstract: Allowing a user to navigate data in a user interface when a modal dialog box has been activated. A method includes displaying a graphical user interface window. The method further includes allowing user input for modifying a particular data in the graphical user interface window. Thereafter, the method further includes displaying a modal dialog superimposed and obscuring at least a portion of the graphical user interface window, including obscuring at least a portion of the data, and to prevent user input for modifying the data in the graphical user interface window so long as the modal dialog remains active. The method further includes identifying information indicating that the modal dialog should be hidden. The method further includes at least partially hiding the modal dialog revealing at least a portion of the obscured data, while continuing to prevent user input for modifying the data in the graphical user interface window.

  • Patent number: 9665615
Abstract: A search system, separate from a relational database, generates an index of information in the relational database that can be used to look up business records (or entities). A search system, that is also separate from the relational database, receives typing or other character inputs in a search user input mechanism and generates queries against the index based on the typing inputs, or other character inputs, received. The search system returns results and modifies those results as additional typing inputs, or characters, are received.

  • Patent number: 9422767
Abstract: Ladders and related methods of using and manufacturing stepladders are provided. In one embodiment, a stepladder is provided that comprises a first assembly hingedly coupled with a second assembly. The first assembly has a pair of spaced apart rails pivotally coupled with one or more rungs. The second assembly includes a pair of space apart rails with one or more bracing members extending therebetween. The first assembly and second assembly are configured to be displaced relative one another such that the stepladder is selectively positionable between a first, deployed state and a second, collapsed state. Upon rotation of the two assemblies relative to one another into a stowed condition, components of the second assembly engage undersurfaces of the rungs effecting rotation of at least a portion of each rung relative to the rails of the first assembly.

  • Publication number: 20160184029
Abstract: Systems and methods to facilitate automated image-guided experiments including in vivo electrophysiology and electroporation are disclosed. Exemplary systems and methods utilize three-dimensional image data to estimate coordinates of target cells and calculate a path for a probe to carry out an initial approaching toward a target location. Visualization and real-time image analysis is then employed to modify the path based on updated three-dimensional data of the probe location and target location, compensating displacement of target location due to the insertion of the probe into the tissue. Precise control of the probe then performs final approaching of the probe to the target location. This adaptive pipette positioning technique provides a platform for future advances in automated in vivo experiments.
