  • Publication number: 20130035797
Abstract: A method for improving the performance of a digital circuit is provided in the illustrative embodiments. A real frequency of operation of the digital circuit is adjusted using a control loop in the digital circuit, the adjusting the real frequency being responsive to a change in an operating condition of the digital circuit. A measurement of a current drawn by the digital circuit is received from a voltage regulator supplying electrical power to the digital circuit. An over-current target current value is received. A voltage output from the voltage regulator to the digital circuit is adjusted such that the current drawn by the digital circuit does not exceed the over-current target current value.

  • Publication number: 20120223764
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for on-chip control of thermal cycling in an integrated circuit (IC) are provided in the illustrative embodiments. A first circuit is configured on the IC for adjusting a first voltage being applied to a first part of the IC. A first temperature of the first part is measured at a first time. A determination is made that the first temperature is outside a temperature range defined by an upper temperature threshold and a lower temperature threshold. The first voltage is adjusted by reducing the first voltage when the first temperature exceeds the upper temperature threshold and by increasing the first voltage when the first temperature is below the lower temperature threshold, thereby causing the first temperature of the first part to attain a value within the temperature range.

  • Publication number: 20100115097
Abstract: A system and method for scheduling and executing jobs in a decentralized multifunction device (MFD) network is provided. The method includes receiving at an origin node of the network of MFDs a job, where the job includes data and a request to perform an operation on the data. MFDs of the network are selected to execute the requested operation on at least a portion of the job data. Portions of the job data are apportioned to the selected MFDs for processing thereof by executing the requested operation. The selecting and the apportioning are performed using historical information related to previous performance and reliability of the MFDs of the network.

  • Patent number: 5911441
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved carrying case which is capable of storing a pad of fresh writing paper, wherein the pad of paper may be stored in a pocket that will enclose the pad and protect it from being exposed to the outside elements. The carrying case of the present invention provides the benefits that the notepad is easily accessible to the user, without having to open the case to expose the papers contained within the interior of the case. Thus, the user may write upon a fresh pad of paper without opening the interior of the carrying case. Further, the carrying case is sturdy enough so that the user can have a sufficiently stable surface to write upon the notepad without removing the notepad from its pocket.

  • Patent number: 5907705
Abstract: Change control in a software release stream is managed by a computer implemented Request To Integrate (RTI) system, including at least one user unit having an input unit and a display. A server unit which is connected to the user unit(s) creates and stores RTI files representing requests to integrate changes into the software release stream, and enables a selected RTI file to be displayed on the display unit under control of the input unit. The server unit includes a database in which the RTI files are stored under the Source Code Control System (SCCS), and a search engine for searching the database and displaying selected RTI files and their histories. The RTI files are in World Wide Web (WWW) HyperText Markup Language (HTML) text format, and are accessible through a WWW browser in the user unit(s) and a cooperating WWW server in the server unit. The server unit stores and executes a program including a WWW home page, and developer, evaluator and gatekeeper pages which are accessible through the home page.

  • Patent number: 5745681
Abstract: A shopping cart metaphor is emulated on a network of server and client computing systems. A browser at the client station has a request module to send a shopping page request to the server. A shopping page module in the server sends a shopping page file to the browser in response to the shopping page request. The shopping page file contains items selectable by a user using the browser. A shopping module at the browser generates an add request and sends the add request to the server. This add request contains selected items from the items that were selectable in the shopping page file. A receiver at the server receives the add request from the browser, and a cart list module at the server initializes a shopping cart list. An add module at the server adds the selected items to the shopping cart list.
