  • Publication number: 20220414552
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of providing communication channels between actors to a job operation comprises the following steps: receiving, over at least one network connection, data corresponding to a job operation, wherein the job operation is carried out by a plurality of actors; reserving a number of communication channels over the at least one network connection, wherein the number of communication channels corresponds to the plurality of actors; assigning each of the plurality of actors to at least one node on the number of communication channels; and providing a temporary identifier to each of the plurality of actors at the at least one node, whereby each actor is in anonymous communication with each other actor across at least one communication channel.

  • Patent number: 11539987
Abstract: One high-level aspect of a content-modification system and related methods may involve facilitating content modification by a content-presentation device of received broadcast content in a controlled manner, while under circumstances in which some events that can impact timing may be unpredictable. In particular, certain operations by a content-presentation device may involve matching received content with specific expected content as determined by one or another component of the content-modification system, in order to confirm proper conditions are met for the content-presentation device to proceed with, or continue, content-modification operations. It can happen the matching procedure becomes subject or susceptible to timing irregularities, or jitter. In some instances, jitter may impact the ability to derive the benefits of content modification. Accordingly, example embodiments herein are directed to systems and method for compensation and/or mitigating the effects of jitter.

  • Publication number: 20220322840
Abstract: A foundation for a bed system can include an actuator, a deck mechanism operably related to the actuator so as to be actuated between raised and lowered positions in response to actuation by the actuator, and a controller operably connected to the actuator and configured to drive the actuator to actuate the deck mechanism between a lower position and an upper position. The deck mechanism can be configured to move to a service position that is further than the upper position. The deck mechanism can expose and permit access to a serviceable component when the deck mechanism is in the service position. A method of using a foundation having a service position is also described.

  • Patent number: 11416787
Abstract: Systems, devices, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for utilizing group theoretic techniques to enable data exchange between a supervisory central processing unit (CPU) and a group of graphical processing units (GPUs). The CPU may be configured to utilize a tabu search metaheuristic to explore a solution space to determine an optimal solution to an optimization problem. More specifically, the CPU may determine a fragmentation of a solution space that yields multiple partitions of the solution space and may assign each partition to a respective GPU configured to calculate a computational result. The CPU may then determine a new fragmentation of the solution space based on the computational results received from the GPUs that yields new partitions of the solution space and may assign each new partition to a respective GPU configured to again generate a computational result based on its assigned new partition.

  • Publication number: 20220250513
Abstract: An infant car seat system includes an infant car seat with an integrated anchor system to conveniently secure the infant car seat to a vehicle seat, without using a detachable vehicle installation base and without using a vehicle seat belt. The anchor system is coupled to the infant car seat at one or more mechanical constraining points positioned based on the center of gravity of the infant car seat and respective anchor points at which the anchor system engages with vehicle lower anchors. The anchor system may be a rigid anchor system or a belted anchor system, and the system may include one or more of a release actuator for a quick disconnect mechanism, an adjustment foot to accommodate different vehicle seats and ensure a tight fit, and/or one or more storage compartments to store parts of the anchor system when unused.

  • Publication number: 20220125649
Abstract: Feminine hygiene articles are disclosed herein. The feminine hygiene articles described herein can provide easily discernable placement and orientation guides which reduce the likelihood of misapplication by the user, facilitated attachment guides which can reduce the likelihood of misapplication of the feminine pad and can also reduce the likelihood of improper attachment of the feminine pad to a panty. The feminine hygiene articles disclosed include wings which can provide cues on proper attachment of the article to the panty, and wing adhesive distributed in a way which can provide sustained coverage of the feminine hygiene article to the panty which reduces the likelihood that the pad will become detached during use.

  • Publication number: 20220061515
Abstract: A backcombing brush for backcombing hair includes an array of bristles 4. Each bristle extends from a base to a free end and two lengths of bristle are provided. Shorter bristles 4a and the bottom of longer bristles 4b carry out backcombing, whilst the longer bristles smooth hair, or untangle knots/tangles in the hair to reduce the level of backcombing. The long bristles have a relatively wide first portion 5, towards the base of the bristle, and a relatively narrow second portion 6, towards the free end of the bristle. The bristles are arranged such that bristles in one row neither extend between adjacent bristles in an adjacent row nor partially occlude the space between bristles in an adjacent row.
