  • Patent number: 10119243
Abstract: A grading implement features a frame with at least one movable section carried by a main frame section. Each movable section is movable relative thereto between a storage position and a working position reaching further laterally outward from the main section to increase a working width of the implement. An underside of each movable section features a respective blade adjustably mounted thereto for selective adjustment between different relative blade positions relative to the movable section. One embodiment features outboard blades on two movable sections, inboard blades on another two movable sections, and a rear blade mounted centrally on the main section behind the inboard and outboard blades. A dust suppression system features spray nozzles distributed across the main frame section behind the blades, and storage tanks mounted atop the main section so that weight of the dust suppression agent provides extra downforce to the blades.

  • Publication number: 20170142942
Abstract: The present invention provides livestock animals and methods to create recipient animals for spermatogonial stem cell transplantation through modulation of the NANOS gene. In one embodiment genome editing issued to create animals with insertions or deletions (indels) that inactivate or otherwise modulate NANOS gene activity so that resulting males lack functional germ cells yet retain functional somatic cells, and females are fertile. These males can then be transplanted with donor spermatogonial stem cells and used for breeding.

  • Patent number: 9605823
Abstract: A lighting apparatus is for use with a projection-receiving surface. The lighting apparatus includes a light-filtering assembly configured to block transmission of a first amount of light emitted by a light source towards the projection-receiving surface. This is done in such a way that blocked transmission of the first amount of light forms a projected shadow region on the projection-receiving surface. The light-filtering assembly is also configured to permit transmission of a second amount of light emitted by the light source towards the projection-receiving surface. This is done in such a way that transmission of the second amount of light forms a projected glow region on the projection-receiving surface. A filter-moving assembly is configured to move the light-filtering assembly. This is done in such a way that the projected shadow region and the projected glow region move and combine to form a variable curved wave pattern.

  • Publication number: 20170082551
Abstract: A method includes providing a water sample for analysis at a well site, or at a location proximate the well site, where the water sample is collected from at least one water source and the water sample comprises at least one analyte. The water sample and a reagent are introduced into a microfluidic mixing cell to produce a mixture of the reagent and water sample, and the mixture has a detectable characteristic indicative of concentration of the at least one analyate in the water sample. The detectable characteristic is measured by spectrophotometry to determine concentration of the at least one analyte. Then a subterranean formation treatment fluid is prepared using water from the at least one water source based on the concentration of the at least one analyte. The introducing into the microfluidic mixing cell and the measuring by spectrophotometry are conducted over an elapsed time period of about 5 minutes or less.
