  • Publication number: 20190249871
Abstract: A locally powered intermittent pilot combustion controller may include an igniter, a thermal electric and/or photoelectric device that produces an electrical signal having power when exposed to a flame, and a local power source for providing power when the thermal electric and/or photoelectric device is not exposed to a flame. In some cases, the intermittent pilot combustion controller may include a memory for storing information about an ignition sequence for igniting a pilot flame, and a controller coupled to the memory. The controller may be configured to initiate the ignition sequence of the pilot flame using information stored in the memory, determine whether the ignition was successful by monitoring the electrical signal produced by the thermal electric and/or photoelectric device, and adjust the information stored in the memory based on whether the ignition sequence completed successfully.

  • Publication number: 20190178070
Abstract: An embodiment in accordance with the present invention includes a method for estimating the permeability of fractured rock formations from the analysis of a slow fluid pressure wave, which is generated by pressurization of a borehole. Wave propagation in the rock is recorded with TFI™. Poroelastic theory is used to estimate the permeability from the measured wave speed. The present invention offers the opportunity of measuring the reservoir-scale permeability of fractured rock, because the method relies on imaging a wave, which propagates through a large rock volume, on the order of kilometers in size. Traditional methods yield permeability for much smaller rock volumes: well logging tools only measure permeability in the vicinity of a borehole. Pressure transient testing accesses larger rock volumes; however, these volumes are much smaller than for the proposed method, particularly in low-permeability rock formations.

  • Publication number: 20190045986
Abstract: A debris vacuum system includes a wheelbarrow that has a bucket. A vacuum is provided that has an intake and an exhaust. A housing is removably coupled to the bucket on the wheelbarrow such that the housing encloses the bucket. The housing has an aperture extending into an interior of the housing and the aperture insertably receives the intake of the vacuum. A spout is fluidly coupled to the housing such that the spout is in fluid communication with the vacuum when the intake is positioned in the aperture. A pipe is removably coupled to the spout such that the pipe is in fluid communication with the aperture. In this way the pipe suctionally removes debris from the support surface thereby facilitating the debris to be deposited in the bucket.

  • Patent number: 10079778
Abstract: A technique for allowing customers to control a video network. A network controller receives a request from an end user for a video connection between a first port and a second port. The request may specify at least a start time, an end time, the first port and the second port. A plurality of available routes between the first port and the second port may be analyzed to determine at least one selected route that will be used to connect the first port and the second port. A first command may be sent to automatically connect the first port and the second port via the at least one selected route at the start time. While in progress, the video connection may be modified according to system availability. Customers may have a view of all requests that have been made, completed or reserved for in the future.

  • Publication number: 20180250238
Abstract: Embodiments provide apparatus and methods for delivering solid form medications such as drug cords (DC) to various locations in the body. The DCs may comprise one or more drugs and excipients. One embodiment provides an apparatus for in vivo delivery of DCs comprising a housing including a port, a DC disposed in the housing on a spool or like device and a mechanism for advancing the DCs from the inside the housing to a delivery site (DS) outside the housing. The apparatus can be used to deliver selected lengths of DC corresponding to a dose of drug to treat a medical condition. The DC can be delivered to the DS at regular intervals or responsive to a detected biological event. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for delivering medication to treat a selected medical condition over an extended period without requiring a patient to take external medication.

  • Patent number: 9861277
Abstract: Interferometry-based methods and apparatus are presented for analyzing one or more wavefronts from a sample, in which the sample wavefronts are interfered with two or more reference wavefronts to produce two or more interferograms in a sufficiently short time period for the interferograms to be captured in a single exposure of an image capture device such as a CCD array. Each interferogram has a unique carrier frequency dependent on the angle between a respective pair of sample and reference wavefronts. In certain embodiments multiple sample and/or reference wavefronts are generated using scanning mirrors, while in other embodiments utilizing multi-wavelength beams multiple sample and/or reference wavefronts are generated with wavelength dispersive elements. The methods and apparatus are suitable for measuring aberrations at one or more positions on the retina of an eye.
