  • Publication number: 20190078705
Abstract: A reinforced duct system includes at least a first thermoplastic duct section and a stiffening ring affixed to the first thermoplastic duct section. The stiffening ring includes first and second thermoplastic core rings, an inner reinforcement strip adhered to and spanning adjacent interior surfaces of the first and second core rings, an outer reinforcement strip adhered to and spanning adjacent exterior surface of the first and second core rings, and a flat reinforcement ring interposed between the first and second core rings.

  • Patent number: 9987794
Abstract: A composite structural component includes a longitudinally extending elongated base element and a plurality of longitudinally extending elongated reinforcing members each secured to the base element along a length of the reinforcing member at spaced apart locations on the base element. The base element is of a first material having a first coefficient of thermal expansion and a first modulus of elasticity. The plurality of longitudinally extending elongated reinforcing members are of a second material having a second coefficient of thermal expansion less than the first coefficient of thermal expansion, and a second modulus of elasticity greater than the first modulus of elasticity, such that the composite structural component has an effective coefficient of thermal expansion in the longitudinal direction that is less than 25% of the first coefficient of thermal expansion.

  • Patent number: 6827538
Abstract: A torque prevailing stud having a male component made of a shank with an outer wall that is threaded, a gripping component formed on the shank, and a wedge ramp rolled in a portion of the threaded outer wall. A female component having a body with a threaded bore that is used for engaging the male component. The threaded bore of the female component matingly engages a portion of the threaded outer wall and the wedge ramp when screwed thereon. The wedge ramp forces the threaded bore to conform to the shape of the wedge ramp thereby securing the male and female components together in a torque prevailing fit.
