Abstract: A printed circuit board (‘PCB’) comprising: an interior socket configured to receive a connector pin of a first electronic component, the connector pin characterized by a pin impedance; a signal trace coupled to the interior socket, the signal trace configured to transmit electrical signals between the first electronic component and other electronic components mounted on the PCB, the signal trace characterized by a trace impedance; and an insulator between the interior socket and a sleeve that surrounds the interior socket, the sleeve physically configured such that an effective pin impedance matches the trace impedance within a predetermined threshold, wherein the effective pin impedance represents the resistance experienced by electrical signals passing through the connector pin when the connector pin is inserted into the interior socket.

Abstract: A computer program product includes a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, wherein the program instructions are executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform a method. The method includes monitoring use of a user input device of a computer system relative to a graphical user interface (GUI) of an active application, wherein the user input device includes a pointing device, wherein user input to the pointing device controls movement of a pointer within the GUI, and wherein a software interface establishes a level of sensitivity between the user input to the pointing device and the resulting movement of the pointer. The method further includes determining a value of one or more parameters characterizing the use of the at least one user input device, and automatically adjusting the level of sensitivity in response to the value of the one or more parameters.

The impedance of a first signal conductor of the daisy chain memory circuit is automatically altered to reduce a mismatch in impedance between the first signal conductor and the segment in response to detecting the presence of the memory module in the connector. A metal element is incorporated into the printed circuit board a spaced distance from the first signal conductor, and the control circuit may selectively activate one or more relays to cause the metal element to function as either a floating trace or a ground reference.

In an embodiment of the invention, a method for automated suggestions of privacy level settings for a new connection in a social network is provided. The method includes receiving a new connection for an end user of a social network and identifying mutual connections between the new connection and the end user. Thereafter, a suggested privacy setting for the new connection can be displayed in a display of a computer based upon privacy settings of the identified mutual connections. Optionally, a selection can be received of a different privacy setting than the suggested privacy setting and the different privacy setting can be established for the new connection.

Abstract: A method is described for post delivery instant message redirection when logged onto an IM system from a first device and subsequently logging onto the IM system from a second device, and the IM system logs off the first device. An instant message is transmitted from a sender to a recipient at a first MAC address of the recipient, such that the instant message has been delivered to the recipient. It is determined if the instant message is received by the recipient. The determination includes receiving notification that the recipient is typing in a chat window or notification that the chat window is closed. The instant message is retransmitted to a second MAC address of the recipient in response to receiving a change in the first MAC address to the second MAC address before notification that the recipient is typing in the chat window or the chat window is closed.
