  • Patent number: 11359170
Abstract: A method for metering hops pellets into a fermented beer precursor in order to produce beer using a system having a metering system and a pump. Hops pellets are supplied into the system. A specified quantity of hops pellets are metered from the metering system to the pump. The specified quantity of hops pellets is supplied into a beer precursor-conducting line or a tank filled with beer precursor by the pump. The metered hops pellets are supplied into the beer precursor-conducting line or into the tank filled with the beer precursor in a pelleted and/or granulated form.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 22, 2018
Date of Patent: June 14, 2022
    Assignee: GEA MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT GMBH

  • Publication number: 20160251605
Abstract: A method is provided for clarifying a flowable product with a separator that discontinuously automatically empties solid matter and includes a rotary system having a drum that is rotatable by a drive spindle, the drum having an inlet for the product to be clarified and at least one liquid discharge for the continuous discharge of at least one clarified liquid phase and solid-matter discharge openings that are to be opened discontinuously for the discontinuous discharge of the solid phase. The method involves a) determining one or more parameter(s) associated with the vibratory behavior of the rotary system with the aid of at least one vibration sensor and b) initiating a temporally limited solid-matter discharge when or after a limit value for the measured parameter(s) is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 9192945
Abstract: A separator includes a rotatable drum having a vertical rotational axis, a disk stack arranged in the drum, an inner gripper and an outer gripper that do not rotate with the drum are configured to discharge mutually-separated liquid phases. A discharge line is assigned to each gripper and is arranged in an associated gripper chamber of the drum. The inner gripper includes an inner gripper shaft and the outer gripper includes an outer gripper shaft both of which shafts protrude axially from the drum. Each associated gripper chamber, with its associated gripper, revolves on different radii with respect to the rotational axis such that a chamber is formed radially between an outer circumference of the inner gripper shaft and an inner circumference of the outer gripper shaft. A fluid is insertable into the chamber through a channel, which fluid is pressable from the chamber into the gripper chambers.

  • Patent number: 7641929
Abstract: A method of adjusting a sediment content of a drink by a centrifuge. The method includes the steps of feeding a starting product into a centrifugal drum, clarifying the starting product by a clarification process of sediment substances into a clear phase, a solids phase and a finely cloudy phase, and discharging the clear phase, the solids phase and the finely clouded phase from the centrifugal drum. Also disclosed is a centrifuge for adjusting a sediment content of a drink.
